Question: VERRY worried

posted 29th Apr
So Serenity is starting to worry me... She does this thing where shell be totally normal and all of a sudden she will fall to the left (her right) she doesnt really fall she just tilts from about the waist up. I dont understand, is this normal? My husband said hes noticed it for about a month now and I have only noticed a coupple weeks... It doesnt seem to bother her, she doesnt even seem to notice it but I notice it and it scares me. Has this ever happened to anyone else???about three weeks ago she had a feever but thats the only thing thats been wrong lately and we got that squared away... I hope shes ok....

IDK... babies tend to do weird things. If you're worried call the ped.

Might it be neurological? If you think maybe so, be careful w/ vaccinations. My child did some crazy things after shots; head banging, tilting her head back/eyes up (mild, brief seizure episodes.) We had to stop the shots for it to subside.

Whatever it is...and it may be nothing more than her wiggling around and finding new ways to move...it's good that you're in tune with her. If there is a problem, it's best if it's caught early. But try not to worry too much...like someone else said on this thread, sometimes babies just do crazy things.

I would think that an ear infection could certainly throw a baby off balance. Have you checked with the pedicatrician yet?

Ok just a little update. So when we last went to the doctor (last week) she said serenity had a little ear infection and since it wasnt very bad she wasnt sure if it was going away or just starting so we decided to wait on the antibiotics to see if the infection would go away on its own. Its not so i talked to the doctor today and shes going to call in the antibiotics for serenity and she told me to just watch to make sure serenity stays responcive and doesnt cross her eyes or lose her balance or anything weird while shes doing the tilting... If that happens we have to take her in. Now with the antibiotics the doctor said that by the end of the treatment if the tilting continues we have to go get her checked out which will mean a few tests and what not... so keep your fingers crossed hopefully it just goes away!   thank you guys for all of your support!

I'm *glad* it's an ear infection (I hate to say that because those hurt!) and I hope her balance is restored as the infection clears.
