Pap Smear results

The nurse called me today to tell me I had a bad pap result. That is pretty much all she said and that I would be followed up at my next visit (which is Friday).
I kind of wish she would have just waited until my doctors appt. to tell me because I have no clue what to think. Any one else have a bad result and what was it from?

Yeah I had a bacterial infection and a yeast infection   yikes.

but they just prescribed me stuff to take care of it.. its not that big of a deal.. even when its as bad as my case..

You probably had an abnormal pap. I can't make you feel any better though because it could be very mild or bad. try not to stress though. Just see what he has to say. LOTS of people have abnormal paps

I probably get that call every other pap. It's when they find abnormal cells and they just want to repeat. Make sure you abstain from sex for like 2 days before the repeat pap and don't use any harsh cleaners down there before, lol. I'm sure you'll be fine. They would have told you if anything was serious.

I did. They thought I had HPV so I had to have a colposcopy. There was a very small presence of it, but apparently not bad enough to have to do anything about. She said it was in the early stages so I have to have another colpo after I have the baby. (Because she said it could be showing up because of the hormones).

But don't worry because if that's all your doc said then most likely HPV would be the worst case scenario. It could just be an infection (had one of those too with my pap smear).

Thanks everyone....of course I am looking on the internet and the whole cancer thing shows up but I am sure it is probably just an infection or something. I am diabetic and get yeast infections quite a bit. Thanks again for the reassurance!

My pap came back abnormal when I was pregnant too,I have to go back when Hazel is 3mo witch is in a few days,I really dont want to.good luck with you.

Colposcopy SUCKS!!! Just be prepared. They stick a microscope up your poonanny and take a biopsy off your cervix with NO numbing stuff. It effing SUCKS!!

Yeah my Dr. explained to me what they do and I looked it up online and I've been freaking out ever since I'm NOT looking forward to it haha. I cant stand pap I cant imagine having a microscope stuck up there as well.

Go have a drink (or a xanax) before you go. It will help you relax.

Some of the stuff thats on the website I looked my Dr. didnt even tell me like not to have sex 24-48 hoursbefore the test and to take600-800 mg of advil or something else an hour before the appt. I mean those things would of been nice to know I'm glad I looked it up.

The colpo wasn't that bad for me. I mean it's not really enjoyable to have people sticking things up inside you. But it didn't hurt or anything. And they didn't take a biopsy since it wasn't that bad.
