When the result is unwanted it can be a punishment. And i think your missing the point.

thought about this a little more,

punishments are usually something given by authority to protect you from what may be worse scenario, like getting your ass kicked for having sex. id consider that a punishment.the worse scenario is a consequence.

like, a kid that runs out in the street. spanking his bumm is a punishment, getting hit by a car is not. i think of punishment as negatively viewed no matter what by the recipient, and something that is preventative to a worse outcome.

does that make any sense?

i get the point, i dont like the statement.


i think that the government trying to protect you from hell or whatever by trying to prevent an abortion fits well into my punishment description.....

but a child is still a consequence, not a punishment.

Yes but if the authorities where to tell you well you had sex so now you have to give up the rest of your life to care for a baby..... Is that not a punishment? And if we take away the right for women to choose that is exactly what we are doing.

i stated pretty much the same thing in my last post up there, its just the phrase.
he said he doesnt want to punish his daughters with a baby. that's extremely insensitive.

i in general like obama, i have also had an abortion.


that statement makes me cringe.
i still believe that a child is a consequence. its something i would have to handle one way or another, and abortions can have just as negative an impact as having the child. its a consequence that must be one way or another dealt with.


no, dont take that option away, but dont call a baby a punishment.
