Not all the pics showed for me but I think it looks more cluttered than dirty. The age of the furniture and the dark colours don’t help matters. Like someone else suggested, there are some cheap quick fixes, like sofa covers and floor rugs, that could help make it look a little nicer. All my furniture is ssecond hand, and I've had to do a fair bit of DIY. I found it fun though, I love doing up furniture and painting

There are programs that give out free furniture.

I think if you got rid of half the things in there it wouldn't be as bad.

I grew up with 5 siblings and 2 parents who were broke as a joke and our house never looked that bad. Things can be old and worn but not be nasty...

Yeah, I got black to match my other sofa...so it gets "dirty" easier...but that's what my washer/dryer is for. lol I really love the slip covers.

We got an amazing dining room set for free. Someone had just set it on the side of the road to be thrown away. O_O

Tbh it doesn't look that way. I live in a 60+ year old house an the carpet hasn't been replace, everything is original in this house. And it's that old brownish carpet. And I have a dog who was smurffing and pissing on it daily before he was trained and my carpet looks a hell lot cleaner than that. I don't think it's the age. It the upkeep.

I'm sorry, but it looks like a smurfing pigsty. I know you say it's "clean," as in you clean it, but...it doesn't appear to be helping. I wouldn't let anyone come over EVER if my house looked that way.

There are a lot of things you can do FOR FREE that will make your house look a hell of a lot better. The OCD in me is itching to go to your house and organize the smurf out of your dirty clutter.

Just looking at your pictures make me want to scrub and deep clean my house some more even though I just did it yesterday.

My MIL house is like that too and I can't stand eating there or make myself feel comfortable at all. Just can't wait till I go home to shower after her place.

You should get rid of half of that crap and it would look way better. Put the clothes away or fold them atleast and the pills need to be off the fridge. If everything was put away it would look a lot nicer. The carpets are a mess. Call rug doctor.
