Hi ladies, yesterday was LO's first day of OT... it went well, he loved it. His therapist wants us to do skin brushing and joint compression... just wondering if this worked for any of your children?

Took a few tries over months to get her to let us but it went really well. Hard to stick too but so worth it!

Glad to hear that! It's very hard to stick with, most of the time I am chasing him around with a brush lol, but hopefully it will help!

My 3 yr old is being tested thrusday. I have never heard anything about this until about 2 days ago. Im at my wits in. For the longest I thought he was just acting out because he is so spoiled by his grandparents. When he turned a year I started working again and had to place him in day care. He did okay until they switch him to a different age group he started crying non stop all day. He hates any loud noises. He will cover his ears. I even look him to the ENT doctors. When I pulled him from the daycare they told him my son was too much to handle and needed to be checked for autism. A friend of the family that has worked with kids for 12 years took him in her care. He was great until she started keeping a baby she is about 5 months old. He is SCARED to death of this little girl. If she cries he cries you can not calm him down. Ive noticed he does this in stores, doctors offices, etc. Im just looking for anyone that can give me a little information about this. Its breaking my heart to see him go thur all of this.

Change is very hard for kids with spd. So id imagine the change in group really rocked his world. We moved a month ago and my daughter is a mess. Its very heart breaking. I will get on the computer in a couple hours and try to find you some links.

I think that is pretty typical. Same happened with my daughter. I think it has to do with their development.

Havent tried making one. Have they tried while hes at OT? Generally my daughter tries stuff at OT/school first. Im wondering if there is a place you can get that stuff second hand. I mean kids grow so fast!

at the OT place that he goes to, they only have one that's for bigger kids..   (he's only 2) his therapist is going to attempt to make one for him over christmas break, so it won't be until Jan when we get to try one for him. that'd be awesome if there was a second hand store for that stuff! i guess i'll do some more searching online..
