Is it sad....suggestions?

posted 28th Apr
Is it sad to already be so depressed about my weight? My son is only 4 days old and I have been bawling my eyes out over how heavy I still am. I expected atleast 20lbs of this to fall off after delivering, but it didn't happen. How much weight did you all end up losing by 6 weeks pp? I was already over weight and now I just don't know... My feet, legs, and body as a whole are still swollen and not mildly so.. I had an emergancy c-section so I know I can't really exercise...what all did your doctors allow?

By 4 days PP I had only lost 9 lbs. By 6 weeks I had lost 42. I had a c-section and wasn't allowed to excercise untill my checkup.

I know this is going to sound horrible to alot of people but I am the same way My first pregnancy I lost 25 pounds gained back 5 and well my son was 4 pounds 12 ounces (he was 8 weeks early) anyways so that pregnancy I was really happy and now this pregnancy I only gained 13 pounds and well my son was 8 pounds 6 ounces so I am all upset everytime I look in the mirror because of the skin that looks all gross. Although I know its not a huge amount to loose. So I guess hopefully in 4 weeks at my appointment I loose the rest. My neighbor has 3 kids and her daughter is 2 and she is just now getting off the last few pounds. So maybe the more kids the harder it is? I hope not because I want a third but I don't want to weight gain.

You probably still have a lot of extra fluid hanging around,I know mine took a couple weeks to fully dissipate-by a month pp I was allowed mild exercise(though i think c sections are different with that) which I did,and I ate nearly no carbs, and hardly any animal products-and the weight really dropped off fast-try to stay positive, being bummed makes food taste goood.

don't worry! You will lot alot of water weight in the next few weeks. I think I lost nearly 20 lbs in the first 6 weeks in nothing but water weight and near the end I wasn't really that swollen or anything. what I do to make myself feel a little better is I only weigh myself once a week. I know if I weigh myself every day it won't look like I am staying the same. If I weighmyself once a week it feels like I have accomplished more when I see I have lost 3 lbs (or whatever). I'm not sure if that mae sense it's 1am here.

I think some of it is fluid with how my feet are swollen. I weighed 208 the morning I went in to the hospital and I weighed 193 tonight when I made the mistake of stepping on the scales. I really need help deciding what to eat ... I'm a picky eater. I know I need to stay away from potatoes, most breads, pastas, sodas, and definately take out. I've been trying to snack on strawberries for my sweet tooth.. I just need to get a meal plan formed out..I just am not sure what ti put on it....and i hope if I'm not so sore by the end of the week...to try walking.

That's 15 lbs! That's really good for just a couple days, my dear! Listen to the other ladies...give it a couple weeks and you'll be back to normal!

With that meal plan..lots of vegetables, grilled chicken or tofu (depending on if you eat meat), and cut out the bad snacks almost completely. Eat 1 snack a week. And def cut out the soda..or at least switch to diet. Just some suggestions!!
