Lay on your side or get a body pillow to hug.

I have never had it happen but my doc has told me this could happen after 6months. She has told me to try not to lay on my back for too long it puts too much pressure on everything with the baby.

Yes, that's why they tell you not to sleep on your back after a certain point.

IVe never heard of anyone actually passing out, but I do get dizzy and nausious feeling if I lay on my back. The baby compressed a big vein that runs behind the uterus

Yes, it's fairly common and really the only remedy is not to over-exert yourself.

Yes. The baby's weight causes the uterus puts pressure on the main artery to the lower body which slows blood flow to and from that part of the body. Which in turn will change (usually lower) your blood pressure potentially causing you to pass out.

This has happened to me twice, it scared me the first time it happened just glad I was in the doctors exam room at the time.

Yup! I couldn't lay on my back without nearly passing out, I'd get dizzy and nauseous and my vision would start going black, I'd usually tell someone and make sure I could adjust before I actually did pass out since usually the only time someone tried to get me on my back was one of the annoying sono techs who always tried to claim she couldn't do any measurements without me being on my back, and laying on my back while pregnant with my twins surely wasn't enjoyable

Ive been told youre not supposed to lay on your back by my home visit nurse and i read it in what to expect when youre expecting. Then someone told me, to put a pillow under my right hip so i can still lay on my back but the baby isnt on the major veins or nerves

I start on my left side bc thats wat the dr told me to do but maybe an hr or two later, I cant feel my legs and they start cramping up so I switch sides and I do that for the entire night.

You'll probably have to keep switching sides, that's what I did, anytime I woke up I'd roll over if not the side I'd lay on to long would start to ache and cramp.

If you like to sleep on your back prop the head of your bed up at an angle, think it was 30 degrees, it will take the pressure off. Also if you have a recliner sleep in it.
