re: Teen moms, age difference?

First child : I was 16 & The father was 20.
Second child : I was 19 & The father was 22.

I was 16 and he had just turned 17. We're four months apart.

I'm 17 and my boyfriend is 19. We are 1 year & 4 months apart

I'm 19, and SO just turned 21 on Memorial Day, a week after we found out we were expecting!

I am 19 and SO is 36 and our son is 4 months old  

we are both 17 when our girl is born he will be 18. He is 3 months and 1 day older than me.

Im 16 my boyfriend is 18 and we were looked down on for this... Age doesnt determined what kind of parent you are - so age shouldnt even be concidered when it comes to babies

Really? So you'd be fine if it were a 12year old and a 17 year old that had gotten pregnant? Age should def be considered when it comes to babies..or we'd have babies having babies...

Negative the youngest girl to give birth to a child was 5 years old and she had just turned five so she was 4 at time of conception. So yes babies can have babies.

And if we went by that then your saying it's ok for 5-8 year olds to have children? Just because they go through puberty early doesn't make them mature enough to have kids.

If they are having sex then they should/ must know what they are doing and the consciences of their actions(unless they were forced to have sex).

I mean I knew what I was doing and knew the consciences of my actions.

This five year old was married off to an older man.
Or a five year old may not even know what sex really is but are curious about what certain parts are. This is why we have age of consent laws put in place because no kids are not mature enough to fully comprehend the reposussions of their actions. So who gets stuck footin the bill for these kids having kids..their parents and society. Age does matter when it comes to having sex and children. Yea the saying that age is just a number is all good and dandy but if your 9 year old daughter fell in "love" with a 25 year old man and had gotten pregnant,what would you think?
Would that be ok because your daughter was 9 and should have known what she was doing?
We can only speculate that the child didn't understand or maybe the older person in the relationship pressured them into having sex.

Even with that you honestly don't see anything wrong with a 5 year old having a baby? Seriously? You're rebuttals was "she should have known better?"

Im not saying I agree with the 5-8 or even 5-14 year olds having sex. but now a days its common for at least 13 and older to get pregnant im 17 and over the age of consent I am working my but off to find a job to help support myself and my baby which is hard to find a job these days in this society especially when they don't and won't hire pregnant women( against the law but they find other ways to not hire you). <--- started to get off topic sorry bout that.

But first off when my child turns 9 she will not be hanging out with a 25 year old (in my opinion). like I said im not saying I agree with it, but when my child turns 5 I have no clue what she will know about, and im sure she will be in my line of eye sight at all times(sounds a bit overprotective I know)... And yes I have to agree age does matter but in certain circumstances like the 9 and 25 year old. to some people age doesn't matter to others it does. Depends on your morals, opinions, and other stuff.

That was my point..age does matter when it comes to babies. Because if it didn't we'd have babies having babies. That's what I was getting at.
