Obviously they had sex or she would not be concerned at all. Secondly she should consider all her options besides abortion, it is fine to educate her on adoption too. You aren't doing anything wrong by trying to tell her not to abort. Its still her choice

If she is positive she would keep the baby if its her boyfriends...Im telling you from personal experience the choice may haunt her FOREVER. Im not trying to scare her, just saying forever is a long time.

She smurfed up. Everyone makes mistakes. I think she needs to tell her boyfriend what happened, and if this was my best friend...id tell her shes not fooling me, shes only trying to fool herself.

If her boyfriend loves her, and they want a future together, he will deal with it.

If she loves her boyfriend and wants a future with him...then why was she messing around in the first place.

Abortions are not and 'easy fix'. She should read through some A&S threads for a first hand view.

There is no way that early on that an ultrasound would detect the due date etc incorrectly.

The earlier the scan is done the more correct it is.

Once you get into your 2nd/3rd trimester the foetus size may be off my a week or so - they may be measuring ahead etc.

I think you can only take the pill up until your 8th week?

My DR told me when i was high risk for miscarriage that any time past 9 weeks i'd need a D&C to remove the tissue because passing it naturally would be dangerous - heavy bleeding, clots etc.

I think most clinics stop offering at 7-9 weeks, I'm not sure though.

Nope. Ultrasounds are accurate within three days this early on. I would get her an appointment asap though because the longer she waits the harder its going to get for her to make a decision. And If you can go with her to the ultrasound, she will really need the support.

I went to *consider* abortion and they were both over 600 dollars, my state doesnt offer any aid to that. Im in michigan. The pill is only up to 9 weeks. that cost 400-800 dollars. after that it is in clinic procedure which is much much more expensive going up to 995 dollars. But we all know a difference between a 9 week ultrasound and a six week ultrasound. If she doesnt, google it and let her see! I am also pro life, i was raped at 14 and kept my baby, there are so many different options and IMO she shouldnt abort just because of not knowing who the father is!

Omg!!! Almost 1,300$!! That's insane!!! If you don't mind...why did they cost so different? And where did you go? What did you experience? I had a D&C in December due to a miscarriage at 8 weeks, but carried the baby until 9 weeks and some days. I had a missed miscarriage.

I went to Planned Parenthood both time. The first one, I was about six and a half weeks pregnant. My bill looks like this:

So the majority of the cost came from the actual abortion and the ultrasound and whatever that ECP: RX DUAL USE-H thing is. A lot of what's on that list of costs was unnecessary, too. I had severe hyperemesis gravidarum so I was puking really bad the entire time I was there. About a half hour before the procedure, the nurse took pity on me and gave me an injection of Toradol and an injection of anti-nausea medication. And something on the list is probably the Depo I got afterward. Here is the link to the entire story from my first abortion. My second one wasn't nearly as eventful so I didn't bother writing the story for that one.

I don't have the receipt for my second abortion on hand but I was eight and a half weeks and I didn't have any of the problems I had with the first one. I went in, filled out the papers, met with a counselor, got the ultrasound, went back out into the waiting room, watched Mean Girls, was called back, undressed, laid down, had the fetus sucked out of me, got dressed and left.

Both procedures were over in a matter of minutes but I ended up being there for four to five hours both times. There's a lot of waiting involved.
