My daughter Sophia was born at 35 weeks on February 26, 2010. My water broke in the middle of the night and I rushed to the hospital I was 4 cm dilated and 5 hours later (no drugs) my princess decided to come out. She was sent to the NICU to make sure everything was ok. She had Jaundice (which the nurses said was normal) and she also needed to learn how to drink her bottles and gain weight before she came home. After what felt like forever one week later she was able to come home.......
That was the longest and scariest week of my life....

omg, my daughter was a 35 weeker due to my water breaking as well AND they share birthdays. just two years apart

Nikolai Aleksandr was born via emergency c-section at 34 weeks gestation.
I had been in the High Risk Maternity Ward for a month due to a prematurely aged placenta, restricted umbilical cord blood flow, pre-eclampsia, low amniotic fluid, and they had a suspicion that he was missing a chamber of his heart and would not live 3 hours past birth.
I received weekly ultrasounds to monitor the umbilical cord blood flow and after the last, they decided to induce. After having contractions 2-4 minutes apart for 36 hours, his heart rate began to drop. I got an emerg. c-section within 20 minutes.
This picture was taken after he was about a week old. After birth he was rushed to the NICU where he was put on oxygen and had an ultrasound on his chest, which confirmed that he did NOT have a hole in his heart, and would survive. He weighed 4 lb 14 oz and was 18 inches long. He had a feeding tube placed that stayed for most of his 2 week NICU stay.
This picture was taken on Easter, at 16 months old. Pardon the runny nose.
