any juicers out there?

posted 20th Apr '12
I am wanting to do a 30 day juice fast to lose weight and get off my fast food addiction. The typical weight loss is 25-40 pounds in 30 days. Has anyone done a juice fast or any type of fasting, what was your experience? How much weight did you lose?

why? its actually very healthy for you. it detoxes your blood and your liver from all the bad toxins that you get from the american diet. you are still getting all your nutrients and antioxidents.

My dad did it for like.... a week. Got bored with it because he wanted something to actually eat, not drink.

Its only unhealthy if its done long term. A 30 day raw fruit/vegetable diet is acutaly a great way to detoxify your body.

So I Googled... to see possible adverse side effects. And this site says it's only supposed to be a 3 day fast without medical supervision.

A detox is only supposed to be a few days, not a month. That's probably why it's unhealthy.

I haven't done it but I plan to when I get the money! It can be exspensive. An I still need to buy a juicer, but if you do it you should make a post about recipies! A juice diet is very healthy and a wonderful way to detox just as people who lived in ancient times fasted for periods of times without certins foods. Your body needs to rid of toxic things too not to mention all the chemical additives in our food make a juice detox a great thing to do!

30 days is really long to just jump into! I have friends who have done 10-15 days at a time. You should eat when you get hungry again. After the first few days you won't feel hungry anymore. I have only done a few days at a time.
and you will probably feel sick, tired, achy, headache, nauseous in the beginning first couple days because of detox. All those toxins being released.

My favorite juices are orange carrot (5-7 carrots, 1 apple, 1 orange)
Carrot apple (5-7 carrots, 1-2apple)
Chocolate milk (5-7 carrots, half bunch spinach, 1/2 head romaine)

Grapefruit, 2 apples, 2-3 strawberries (or small bunch of grapes instead of berries)

Good luck!

Also, it is good to use organic where you can. I try to always use organic carrots. The taste difference is incredible!! If you can't get organic, wash very well and peel.

There aren't many organic products available in my area, so I use what I can and stock up when I am in the bigger city nearby.

Im going to do it! I read this on a site and I think Ill start with this for 7 days.

If you can eat mostly salads, steamed vegetables and lean poultry/fish for 7 days prior to fasting, the discomfort will be notably less. This is a golden nugget that I strongly advice you to follow.
. Drink AT THE VERY LEAST half-a-gallon of water daily during this pre-fast period.
