re: Stretchmarks???

I got stretch marks in the the week before I was set to give birth to my first daughter

has anyone else noticed new stretch marks that will start out purple/pinkish and then get much lighter in a matter of days/ a week tops? i am still using lots of lotion and vitamin e oil. might it be helping though not preventing?

I didnt get any strechmarks with my first pregnancy until two weeks before i was due!! I was so excited about having none and then i woke up one morning and i had some...
If you do get them, they do fade after awhile but get dark again when your pregnant!!

I didn't get any stretch marks from my first. And I'm only 20 weeks now with my second and nothing yet, so I can only hope!

All I gotta say is keep your weight gain to a minimum and use cocoa butter atleast 2 times a day. You may still get a few, but it definitely reduces them and maybe the risk of getting them.

They actually have a special cocoa butter for stretch marks

I have a tattoo above my right hip bone, and it still looks the same   Hope everyone has the same luck I do!

I heard that the stretch marks are actually genetics. Some people get them and some don't. I have friends that got lucky and ended up without any. Me of course I wasn't that lucky, so I guess it just depends on your genetic makeup.

I'm due the day b4 you and have used cocoa butter 2 or 3 times a day from the start w/ vitamin E oil in addition to that ...anyhow
I have a tat on my left hip area and lets just say that it's totally torn up w/ stretch marks ...I can only hope that it will recover

Yep, stretch marks are genetic. You're going to get them regardless of how much cocoa butter or oils you use (if they run in your family). But then again, I also heard this to be false. Some women who have sisters and mothers who got stretch marks didn't get any when they had their baby.

But the best way to try and "prevent" stretch marks is to moisturize from the inside out because stretch marks occur in the lower layers of skin called the dermis. The cocoa butters and oils we use are only penetrating the epidermis (upper layer of skin). So drink lots and lots of water, and my doc just gave me the approval to ingest a vitamin e supplement daily along with my prenatal. So I'm doubling on the vitamin e, inside and outside! Hopefully it works!

I have one on my ribs on the left side and one on my hip on the right side... They are pretty big....

Well genetically speaking.. NO ONE IN MY FAMILY HAS ANY!!!! ... But im already getting them... i mean the ones on my peircing holes and now the new one on my cheek.. lol.. i dont mean my face either! hahhaa

I got 1 or2 on my boobs around 20ish weeks. That was to be expected though. I went up a couple cup sizes. As for my belly it was 34 weeks. I didn't get them too bad. They have almost completely faded now.

Where did you get them? Im 33 wks and i keep feeling like ANYDAY NOW... lol

The front of my belly and then a few shorter ones on my hips and thighs.
