Baby Underdeveloped at 6 wks, any hope?

I went in for an u/s on Monday, Was 6w,4d at the time. Doctor said that the baby was underdeveloped and too small to hear the heartbeat. we will go in for another u/s on monday. is there any hope or should i just be trying to get ready for the bad news? i had some minor cramping/ pressure yesterday, but no bleeding.

did they say u should be worried?...maybe ur just not as far along as they thought...

Cant be wrong in due date, i did IVF. My IVF dr said that he was "not very optimistic." my OBGYN said to try to stay in the middle until Monday's u/s

I used to say and stongly believe in the saying Hope for the best prepare for the worst, but since i've been prego. I've stopped and i realized there is only hope!

I did IVF and for some reason I could not hear the heartbeat until I was 9 weeks along. My IVF doctor was able to pick it up with a transvaginal ultrasound but not able to hear it until then.

it took me forever to actually get my very first appointtment. by the time i went in i had known for sure for almost 2 months! they coudnt find a heart beat either, but then they did an ultrasound n saw that i was only 11 weeks along, and THATS why they couldn't hear it. so even if you are really 6 weeks it may just be a little too early still...??

i was 10 weeks 2 days for my 1st u/s and they said my lil one was small for how big it is. some babys grow slower then others. my friend went in at 7 weeks and couldnt hear the heart beat. then at 9 weeks the heart beat was nice and strong. just cuz u cant hear it doesnt mean ur baby doesnt have one. ur still early in the pregnancy. and the cramps is ur uterus. its moving up to make room for ur growning baby. im 14 weeks 4 days and i still get that. ur fine. u need to stop worrying! when ur under stress ur baby is to and its not good for his/her lil heart right now!

that's right cause i had an us at the er at 9 weeks and they couldn't hear it either..but you could see the little flicker of it...

i want to thank everyone 4 your thoughts. my ivf doctor was not very positive about the situation. he basically made it sound like i needed to get ready to do a d&C next week. he said the baby seemed too underdeveloped. i've heard mixed reviews, seems like the longest week of my life! i guess i just have to wait until monday to see. thanks again

At my first appointment i was 9 weeks, but the baby only measured 7 weeks. i didn't get to hear the heartbeat til the next appointment.

At a little over two months the doc couldn't hear my son's heartbeat. So, an ultrasound had to be done which showed my son's heart beating just fine.

well it's not like you can actually see the baby on an u/s at 6 weeks anyway. and they couldn't hear my babies heatbeat until 10 weeks...at 6 weeks it's mostly to early to hear

you can with a vaginal u/s. we even have a picture. you are supposed to hear it at this point too, at least that's what the doctor says. i also did ivf, which is why i probably go 2 the dr most often than usual

Got bad news today. they're going to have to remove the baby this week (D&C). still too underdeveloped. dr. said it was a "missed miscarriage" or something.
