My son just called me a murderer

He's 11, knows I had an abortion, and I guess he talked about it to his school friends or soemthing, Googled it, I don't know, and we were arguing because he has a C in his math class, and he said "I'm not taking advice from a murderer" and stomped off. Idk what to do. I want to beat the smurf out of him and cry in a corner for the rest of my life. Wtf. I don't know what to say to him. I wish I could throw who ever put this in his head down the smurfing stairs.

Beating him is probably not the best of ideas, but I can't imagine how you must feel right now. What about writing him a letter, explaining why you had an abortion?

Maybe he just doesn't know how to handle it. He probably just doesn't understand why you did it .. maybe try talking to him about it?

I'd pop him in his mouth one good time for saying that he isn't taking advice from you whether you're a "murderer" or not, you're his mother and he shouldn't talk to you like that. I'm sorry that he said that to you but maybe explain to him why you had an abortion.

Wow I've got to give you credit...I would have lost my smurf. My daughter wound up getting an open handed slap on the cheek for hitting me and telling me she hated me and wished I was dead...at 5... because I told her she couldn't go to her friends house until she cleaned her room.....got to love public school.....  I still feel bad about it...but at least it stopped the crappy bad behavior.

You should defiantly sit him down and explain how terribly insensitive it was. I'm pretty sure that I'd deal out some punishment for that one...even if it's just chores for a week. Don't let him get away with treating you like that!

time to be honest. educate him, and explain yourself. He already thinks he knows what he is talking about and what it's all about. So you need to have a real conversation with him. Maybe not right now, don't let your emotions dictate the conversation. Good luck

oh I would probably flip if my kids did that, by oldest is 9 and I have taught her what an abortion is and why it is and should always be a womens choice the conversation came up because my mom is pro-life and she probably put ideas in her head about wrong and right. you are not a murderer and you son has no right to speak to his mother like that and I would let him know it.

He should be punished for calling his mother names, and showing blatant disregard for her feelings.
He wasn't telling her politely about his opinion of abortion. He knew that would hurt her so he said it to upset her and get her off his back about the C in math. That's kids for you

he was also doing it to get out of homework, that isn't a opinion thats a "if I flip out about this thing I heard and know nothing about maybe she wont be able to get mad at me for anything"

Agree. I would never say anything like that to my mother at the age of 11...not even at 18. Omg. Kids these days.
