Help

I have a friend that just gave birth to her little boy almost a week ago. She was only 23 weeks pregnant when she gave birth. Everything was going wonderful up until yesterday. They found out he has bleeding on his brain. I would like to ask everyone to please pray for them & their family. Also if you have any advice I could give her please let me know. Thank you so much ladies

Unfortunately, as a NICU parent, your friend is in for a bumpy ride. The NICU course is sometimes described as a rollercoaster, and that's exactly what it is....days of great highs and days of very low lows. A brain bleed, while not ideal, isn't always terrible....it really depends on the level of the bleed. Sometimes they will resolve on their own having caused little damage....sometimes, they can be catastrophic. Unfortunately, your friend may not know how much damage was caused or the consequences of it until her child is much older. All you can really do now is pray for the baby (as I am) and be there to support your friend. 23 weeks is very, very early. As the mom of a former 27-weeker, my heart breaks for your friend, because I know what she is going thru. I wish no parent had to go thru it.

I have no advice for you, but I wish them the best and will definitely be thinking about them. Sending lots of positive energy!

I don't have any NICU experience, but I will keep them in my thoughts & prayers.

After having 2 babies in the NICU everyday will be different. Some days will be very good, others bad, and some not much change. It is best if she talks to the nurses and other parents there. It will make it some what easier.

I Will so be praying for the little one and your friend.. because they will both need it. As a Nicu mommy.. of a 23wkr and 32wkr.. I know all to well the bumpy ride that they are up for.. A brain bleed sounds horrible.. but sometimes those are the least of the worries.. I hope your friend adn the baby MANY WELL weishes   and you as well.. for it takes a special strong Friend to be in your shoes right now   Just help her forget the HOrrible days.. and celebrate the GOOD ones.. because thats going to make it soo much easier for her.. bc shes in for 1 h ell of a rollercoaster unfort   but u can make it a enjoyable one hopefully for her.
