Mirena?

If any of you have it or know someone that has it can y'all tell me about it? I can't think of many questions other then 1.Does it cause weight gain 2.What's the side effects 3.How does YOUR body react to it? Well most of all do you recommend it?

Mine embedded and ducked up my vagina. Dont do it.

It made me a living nightmare. Hate, hate, hated it!!

weight gain yes. i gained 45lbs on it
i got sharp pains and it started embedding

It really depends on your body, no one else's. I've had it for about a month. Minimal bleeding, no weight gain, can't tell it's there. I'd give it a try or talk to your doctor and see what they reccomended.

I've had it since January. I've lost weight, I did spot for a long time though and still do on occassion. I really haven't had any pain from it either.

I have also had it since Jan. I no longer have my period and have lost weight . Love it!

I had it after my daughter, dh never (tmi) pulled out and I never had a problem

I have have used it twice. After my 1st & 3rd kids, (used patch after 2nd, not my fav. birth control, but worked) Anyways... Im now 39 weeks with baby # 4 . I am considering getting it again. I had no major problems just my husband said he could feel the string, but ur Dr. can shorten it. It was convienant & safe for breastfeeding. However... I do know of 2 friends who had issues with it. One got a cyst on her ovary, but idk for sure if that was related to it, & the other said hers came out, but i think she was due 2 have it replaced... I think im gonna give it another try, Id recomend trying it. Also its really quick & easy 2 have removed than placed. I got prego right away each time mine was taken out. Good luck

Google uterus perforation. My friend has that happen and they had to remove hers by emergency surgery.

I'm not sure if it was the same thing that happened to the girl above me. ^^

I havent had weight gain yet but I cant seem to lose weight no matter what I do... I've had it for 2 months now and I've been bleeding this whole time... with like maybe a day break here and there and even when I have that break if I dont have a tampon it I can feel it and it makes it feel like a piece of plastic moving around in my uterus -.- made my leg go numb the first time I went without a tampon.. was so scared =/

Ive had mine for 3 years. I didnt have a period for 2 years of it, my period came back after the 2 years. No weight gain. And i get super sharp pains like its stabbing me inside

ive had mine for a couple months. i didnt have any weight gain (but i didnt on depo or the pill either). i like it more than the pill and depo because i dont "forget to take it" and it doesnt give me mood swings like the other 2 did. i still get a period but also unlike the depo and pill, my period actually ends and it only lasts a couple days. only problem i guess is (tmi...) that dh can feel it when we have sex and he says its pretty painful....

anyways, i definitely like mirena way better than depo or the pill
