Representation of All Your Fellow Teen Parents

I'm seventeen and this is my first child. Her name is going to be Nyx Eiravella. I'm due in 8 days.
Now that that's out of the way, I just wanted to know if anyone else has realized how some people automatically look down on pregnant teens because of the reality shows or from knowing a teen parent who acts ridiculous and makes the rest of us look like crap. I find it extremely annoying when I am out and people ask me if this is my first or where the father is. My answers? Yes this is my first and seeing how you've already looked for my wedding bands, I'm not married but he is around and no we are not together. Maybe its the fact that my daughter is going to be here soon and I'm already annoyed with how people automatically criticize or judge me for being so young, but at least I'm stepping up and taking responsibility for my actions and doing my best to give her everything I can. I just wish the teen parents that are setting the stereotype that all teen parents are no good and will never amount to anything would realize that they don't just represent themselves, but the ENTIRE GROUP OF TEEN PARENTS. Please think about how your actions will affect the rest of us. Thanks

Meh, it's not just teen parents. Everyone gets stereotyped by someone.

People are more likely to judge you based on your actions, not just because you are a pregnant teenager. Yes some will, but most will reserve judgment for the things you actually do. What do you mean exactly by stepping up and taking responsibility? Do you mean that having an abortion or choosing adoption is the opposite of that?

Meh. Worry about yourself. You've got enough on your plate that you don't need to worry about anyone elses actions.

Also, sort of funny, that you're talking about not being judged, yet in the same breathe judging other teen mom's who you think are giving you a bad name. Pot and kettle and all that much?

Being a mom is hard. Suck it up. People are going to judge you regardless. Keep your eyes forward and on what you are doing. Do your best. In the end that is all any of us are doing. But for the love of GOD please reconsider that name.
