Have I forgotten anything?

posted 11th Apr '12
I'm somewhere between 36 and 38 weeks along and the baby is almost ready to come out. My dr doesn't want me to go any longer than May 9. So, knowing I have, at most 28 more days left in this pregnancy I want to make sure I am completely prepared.

I do plan to BF but just in case I can't, I have one tub of formula and a single bottle. I'm pretty confident I'll be able to BF but I don't want the baby going without any food overnight if I can't. there isn't a store open past 11 pm around here and they don't open back up til 5am.

I have ....
2 playpens
3 carseats, two of them infant seats
swing
bouncy seat
rocking chair
TONS of blankets
3 quilts
TONS of clothes
lots of soaps/shampoo/lotions/powder
diapers (I think I have like 400 size 1 already)
bassinet

and supposedly, my cousin has a crib she's going to give me...

Is there anything I'm forgetting? the carseats are one for my car, one for DH's car, and one for mom's car. Playpens are one for home and one for mom's house. My mom wants to be the baby sitter and is so excited about having a grandchild but I didn't want to make her buy everything so we got it and have left it at her house. I can't honestly think of anything else I really need, can anyone else?

i dont see why you need all the carseats..i thinks its enought just to have one carseat and 3 maybe 2 bases..they are easy to take out and put in another car.
how about a diaper genie? some waterproof pads for the changing table and/or crib, thermometer, gas drops

Also i dont think you should be getting that many of the same size diapers. My daughter went through one big box in a month it was about 100 and something and then needed a bigger size the next month.

If you're planning on breast feeding you will need nursing bra's, nursing pads either disposable or reusable, lanolin cream, and if breastfeeding works for you and baby you will want to buy a pump and storage bags. You will also need a thermometer and a baby monitor depending on where baby will be sleeping.

I bought the first carseat because it was the theme I wanted and the other two were given to us. They are both still good and came from family. neither one expires for a few more years. We didn't buy all of them.

For the baby shower, someone bought us a little carry case that has a baby nose cleaner thing (the little bubble with a long skinny tube to suck out the baby buggers) and there is a little thermometer in it, will that work?

thats fine..but honestly i had 4 nose suckers..the only one that works is the one from the hospital..so MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE from them!!! I use mine all the time.! Once my son was 4 months we bought an ear thermometer...SOOOOOO much easier! but i dont think they are accurate til baby is 3 or 4 months or something like that.

Thanks for all the responses.

I have 2 little packages of wipes, but if I buy one of those cases from walmart, how long do they last or do they ever expire?

This!! I went through 3 or 4 before I pulled out the one from the hospital and it's like magic.

I'm going to seem really really dumb here but How exactly does one take a baby temp using the regular thermometer? under the arm?
I don't think a baby's going to let me stick that thing in his mouth long enough to get an accurate temp and I don't think I can do it rectally either?

I'm sstarting to get kind of nervous about everything. I have taken care of lots and lots of babies but I've never taken a temperature for a newborn...
