posted 11th Apr '12
My daughter is 14months old, and I had gotten her ear peirced and 2 months after her right ear got infected so i took the earing out and have been cleaning it twice a day with the solution.. but the past couple days behind her ear has gotten "rashy" like.. and had 5 "pimple like" bumps and yesterday she started getting little dots on her face... well this morning the ones behind her ear is scabbed.. (with a puss) ... im not sure what it is, i havent taken her to the doctors yet cause it just started getting this way.. shes in daycare right now as im in school but its really bothering me as to what it could be ...

but its NOT anywhere else on her body /// ?

I wouldn't say chicken pox, but what kind of metal are the earrings? I myself can only use titanium and real gold in my ears and what you described is exactly how my ears get when I put in sterling silver, hypoallergenic, and any other cheap metal earrings in my ears.

If you honestly think it's chicken pox you need to leave school and get her out of daycare

You should never take an earring out when it's infected. It traps the infection under the skin.

If it were chicken pox, she would have them popping up all over. And it wouldn't look like a scab yet. So no, it's not the pox.

She could very well be allergic to the gold, or if it is just plated (?) if that's the term for it. Like if the gold is painted on a cheap metal. Or her body could just very well be rejecting the piercing.

OP said she took the piercing out.

If it was infected, I'd put money on her trapping the infection inside.
OP, you need to take her to the doctor.
