mirena iud

i have had the mirena for about 5 months now. 3 weeks ago i found out i had gotten pregnant and was 2 months along. 2 weeks ago i lost the pregnancy. has anyone gotten pregnant on the mirena more than once? im scared of going through this again. i want to have it removed by next month but my doc has been trying to talk me into at least keeping it in for a year. also have any of you not been able to lose your baby weight after getting the mirena?

Not pregnant, but you just made me a little nervous cuz I got the Mirena 2 months ago!  

Not on mirena but my best friend is and shes gotten pregnant twice. First one was a mc and now on second one she is 9 weeks and having lots of complications. She also got tons on UTI'S. But you can't listen to everyone else's experiences.

when i saw my doctor and she confirmed i was pregnant she told me it was completely normal and not to get attached cus the mirena is made to prevent pregnancy.a week later i lost the pregnany . i have been upset about this. i wasnt told that you can still become pregnant with the mirena and it jus causes "mini abortions" as what she called it that it jus usually happens before a woman even notices she conceived. i know i got the mirena to prevent from having another baby but this has upset me a lot that i was with held information that would have changed my mind instantly about having it placed.

I'm sorry you went through that. I'm on the depo shot and I have no issues. Weight gain but if you actively exercise then it's not a problem.

i gained about 6lbs getting the mirena and i do the insanity workouts i cant seem to lose the weight. i wish i could do the depo but i jus had a bone tumor removed when i was pregnant and something about depo causing weakening of the bones i cant use it.

Oh wow, I'm so sorry. Well I really hope you find something that works.

i can take the pill i got the iud since i wanted a long term birth control and breastfeed. well when ds turned 4 months i couldt breastfeed any longer due to him not gaining weight and having severe acid reflux from my milk being to acidic. so now that i wont be breastfeeding for more than a year im wanting the mirena to be removed and put on the pill. but my doctor insists for me to keep the mirena for a year

Tell him you want the pill, He can't refuse. If he does, switch dr's immediately

I'm pretty sure the Doc can't MAKE you keep the IUD if you want it removed! Obviously you don't want another pregnancy and miscarriage. Who wants that? Insist on having it taken out!

i called a different ob/gyn today to talk about gettin it removed asap. my other doctor wouldnt schedule to remove it said she didnt have an opening for iud removal till next year. im reporting this to the board
