What is a medical abortion like?

I am going through a bit of a scare right now. I am on the Pill and am scared it may have failed due to a bought of diarrhea. I talked to my doctor and he said that the hormone was digested into my body and that I should be okay.

But what is Ru-486 like?

You think your birth control will fail because you had diarrhea? I have never heard of that!

Have you had your doctor do a blood test to confirm pregnancy?

RU-486 basically induces a miscarriage...It can take a little while to pass everything though I think.

ive heard of this happening. when you have diarrhea, you dont digest anything completely, including medications

wow, I suppose that does make sense!

I'm pretty sure the Pill only fails if you are vomiting because the Pill is expelled from your body before it is digested.
If it's just diarrhea I think you would be fine.

No, but I plan on taking a pregnancy test Wednesday.

But the medicine would be in your blood after being swallowed. Diarrhea doesn't matter at that point.

It would matter if the contents were vomited shortly after taking it.
