car seats from 2004

my friend just had a baby and they said any car seat from 2004 want pass there thing they do when you have a bad and fixin to take them home just so you know

That's because its expired.

usually they last 6 years tops

Any car seat that was made before today in 2006 won't pass. It would be expired.

A carseat from 2004 likely isn't good anymore.

and I lied, unless you have like a sunshine kids but even then I would be iffy on it.

I never once had my car seat inspected. They just looked to see that we had one.

Duh.... you can't use an expired car seat.

But, my hospital didn't check my seat or make sure it was in correctly or anything... I thought it was strange.

they dont check carseats here!   i saw a couple get into a taxi with a newborn fresh outta hospital with no carseat :s she held the baby

And I firmly believe that's why there are so many people that don't know how to properly use a carseat. I think a class should be a requirement to leave the hospital.
