I was told by a friend that since my son is over 1 I shouldn't be feeding him baby food anymore.. is that true? I give it to him because I feel he gets a lot of nutrients from it...  She said she stopped baby food at 1.

I think it's ok occasionally. He shouldn't be eating pureed foods anymore though. They do have Gerber Graduate meals, but from what my daughter's pedi said is she should pretty much just be on table food, milk, and a daily vitamin at 1 year old.

My daughter is almost 10 months and is mostly on table food although I do still give her baby food sometimes.

If he still eats it, I don't see how it could hurt.

Most babies self wean from the baby food, for table food. Are you letting him try the next stage up finger foods or table food?

Hunter gets 1 to 2 things of baby food a day and thats usually in the morning. He doesn't like any of those Graduates meals! I've tried them all 2 times.. He eats table food for lunch and for dinner. But if he doesn't like what were eating then I give him the baby food.

i think it is fine. As long as you offer him some things he can chew. Kids can become dependent on pureed food, but as long as there is a variety it's fine. We eat, applesauce, yogurt, pudding etc,,, and that dosent keep us from eating other things.

People will tell you everything you do is wrong, you just have to use your instincts.

I haven't tried the Graduate Meals LOL. But yea, as long as he is getting table food and knows how to chew it up, i don't see the huge deal. I do still give my daughter stage 2 food sometimes. Like if I hadn't cooked or anything. But she will pretty much eat whatever I give her.

My daughter was roughly a year old when I started taking her off the baby food.It probably would have been sooner but shedidn't gether first two teethuntil 11 months so I was afraid to give her anything else. She is 14 months now with still only those 2 teeth but I cut up all her food small and she is doing great with table food.

Hailey is 10 months old .. She has been eating Gerber Graduate Snacks and diced/fruit veggies for a couple of months now.

She also "mooches" off my plate at dinner and eats half of whatever I have.

As soon as she finishes my stash of stage 2 foods..I will buy only gerber graduate foods.
