Numb/tingling feeling by rib cage

posted 4th Apr '12
Is this normal? I have an OB appointment tomorrow, but man... I have this irritating numbing feeling that comes and goes on the right side of my rib cage, right under my bra line. Its not horribly painful, but it takes me back from time to time. Seems the only way to get it to go away is to rub it.

I'm 29 weeks pregnant.

Yeah it's a pinched nerve caused by the baby kicking your ribs.

LMAO.. It's pregnancy, nothing is bat smurf crazy.   haha
Only thing that relieved the discomfort for me was to take my knuckles and knead them into my rib cage.

My ribs do the same thing and when I let it go too long it gets kinda painful and an ice pack will relieve it.

I had this irritating pain during my first pregnancy....it's even worse now in week 32 of my second pregnancy. It gets so painful when I am sitting or eating that I can barely move....apparently very normal in pregnancies though especially for smaller women! It might get worse in the next few weeks but it'll magically go away once the baby is born....I know from experience! Good luck!!

I had that. Super annoying. I hate to say it but mine went from numb to painful as P got bigger. I'd still mention it to your dr though.

Thanks everyone, I didn't get on the computer at all yesterday, the day just got away from me.

Dr. said dont worry about it at all--- and kneading is about all that helps...
