i only put it in PWT because i thought i might get more responses but no worries you dont have to have a toddler to reply!! and thanks Brodie is going to be 8 months soon and he isnt getting any better with a sippy cup so im hopeing to go right to a straw cup instead

yeah Easton can only use the soft spout ones and he more chews than sucks them. So while eating out I got hima kiddy cup with a lid and he put the straw in his mouth and sucked like he'd been doing it his whole life. Now he much prefers a straw to a sippy cup.

That was what we had to do. My son could never figure out how to drink from a regular sippy. Plus, have you ever tried to drink from some of them? Some of them were hard for me to drink from, let alone my baby!

so we bought the Nuby straw sippy cupsand he got a few big sips out of it kinda choked it down and then proceeded to chew on it so i think if i just keep taking it away when he chews then maybe he'l get the idea to just suck it.

Those are what we used, and my son still prefers them over a regular sippy.
We actually took one and showed him how to suck on it and he picked it up rather quickly.

They're spill proof....at least until they learn to turn them upside down and bounce the straw on the table until milk comes out.   Gotta love the age of curiousity!
