Question about Nickname?

HI everyone...

I am having my first in November, and my Fiance and I have both decided on a name for both a boy or a girl... we don't know the gender yet, but we want to find out as soon as the baby bean is ready to let us know! 
Anyway... we picked out Jameson Xavier for a boy, but my co-worker brought up a good point. What would people call him for short?? I don't particularly want them calling him James, or else I would have named him James... right? Am I crazy or is it just the hormones?? haha.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You could call him Jay for short

why do people have to call him by something else other than his name?

I know a Jameson, and we call him Jay.

I had a friend named Jameson and everyone just called him Jay.

Jay and James are the ones that come to mind IF someones going to call him something other then his name.

Yeah.. I was pretty much thinking Jay.

Jessica - You do have a very good point, as was mine as well... maybe they think it would too long as the kids were in the younger and elementary years?

i think a nickname will come to you better after you have the baby...but i would say probably Jay.

we're naming our boy Lukas, and people are already calling him "Luke" and "Lukie" (gag). I guess people are obsessed with shortening names. I was like cmon people, if I wanted him to be called Luke, i would have named him that. I guess its all a preference to be decided by the kid when they get older. But for now, there's really nothing we can do bc people ARE going to call them something else... ugh. lol

Jameson is Irish Whiskey - don't know if you knew that......

But you could call him 'Jay' for short.

People seem obsessed with nicknames nowadays. LOL When I told everyone that I was naming my son Tristan, I got the question "Well what is a nickname for that?" LOL I just told 'em, well sorry, guess you're just gonna have to call him by his name huh.

You could call him Jimmy or Jamie   SOme people call guys names james Jimmy.

I have a cousin named Jameson and we call him Jamie.

I think of Jay when I think of a nickname for that name. My son's name is Lincoln, and when I was pregnant everyone tried to call him Linc, I put a real quick stop to that. When he gets older, if his friends decide to call him by another name, that's fine, but to me he will always be Lincoln, or monster.
