Prior service & unemployment

I have a few questions with DH's EAS coming up..

If anyone's SO/DH/Whatever got out of the military and was collecting unemployment, did the unemployment office base the ending wages off of taxable income or all income including BAH, etc.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did unemployment pay?

I'm sure all of this varies on state, rank when getting out, etc..just going for a general idea of what to expect. I know you get about half of what you made, and dependents also account for the amount he will receive.

We are going to be in Ohio if anyone else has experiences with the same deal in that state.

Can DH claim me as a dependent for unemployment if I am going to school when he gets out of the military and hadn't worked while he was employed with the military?

While collecting unemployment, what kind of insurance did your family have?

Im on unemployment and for now get medicaid but if not nothing because there all more then what we can afford.


There is a max limit on how much u can draw a week its 55% of ur pay or max up to 300 a week here.

It does pay for him getting out of the military. I know that for a fact.

ahhh well theres the other information i have there is also a cap of i think 22 or23 weeks not sure for unemployment as they just pasted that law last month. Here u also have to contact 5 employers weekly as in apply for job ect.

In Ohio you have to contact 2 employers a week, and I know about the tiers, and claiming on Sundays, but I'm just not sure what is all considered in his wage..well not until he actually has to apply I guess, that's mostly what I'm trying to get insight on.

I'm not one to want to survive off Gov assistance, but I hope we are in the area of being able to get Medicaid. Idk how else we will afford my weekly blood draws. Ugh.

if ur pregnant you will get pregnancy medicaid they usally never deny anyone if he is getting out in the next 30 days apply and tell ur worker what going on as it can take 45 days to approve well if he is making i would not use his BAH for now and see what is 55% if its more then 300, i would go off 300. Im not sure if thats the cap there or not.

I'm not pregnant nor have a worker to talk to lol. I technically can't do anything yet bc he has to wait for his papers to be signed. So as of right now he is still employed for a few more months until his early end of active service papers are signed and that date on the papers passes.

ahh... well i wish u the best of luck maybe start contacting inshurance companies and ask different questions ect and see how much it would be. Also i know my medicaid share of cost was 451 and i only make 668 a month on unemployment.

My mom is collecting unemployment bc her job just relocated. She makes roughly 350 a week. It will suck, but if we at least get that much we will be able to scrape by.
