gender disappointment ?

posted 23rd Apr
Hi everyone , i was wondering if anyone has ever had gender disappointment ? i found out that i will be having another little girl ( that makes 3 girls for me ) and i'm so glad that everything is okay and the baby is doing great but a few days later i started to feel sad . I have always wanted a little boy and i was sure this time i might be decorating in blue but alas its pink again . This is our last child so i guess i feel a bit sad that i wont get the little boy we hoped for . has anyone else had feelings like this ? please don't get me wrong i love this new little girl and i'm happy that we will be having a new little bundle to love , but is it normal to feel a little disappointed ?

I'm dissapointed with my gender all the time... I always wanted to be a boy and pee standing up and on trees and stuff...

things happen for a reason... and yes, your disappointed, but you will forget all about it when that baby is in your arms...

boys are stinky anyways

I think it's pretty common. My husband and I both wanted a little boy so badly. We got our little boy, but I know I would have been disappointed if it had been a girl.

I'm sure when you see your new little girl that you'll love her just the same.

lmao

I was never disappointed w/ the gender of my children. I was just happy they were all healthy. I do have to say that I was beyond thrilled when we found out we were haveing a girl but if she would have been a boy I don't think I would have been disappointed. I grew up w/ 8 brothers so I'm used to being surrounded by smelly guys all the time lol

We wanted a boy from the beginning & I think my hubby still holds some kinda resentment... hahaha even though I keep tellin' him that he chose the sex dammit!!! But we are soooo happy with our babygirl!!!

When I told him it was a girl (he wasn't able to be there for the U/S, he was deployed) he was like "it's a boy" and i was like "ummm no, a girl..." and he was like DAMMMMMIT...

But she sure is Daddy's lil' princess... and I'm sure if we don't get a boy the next time around, he'll be pissy again, but oh well!

i was highly disappointed with my daughter. i wanted a boy so bad. i have a nephew and i thought perfect play mate. but i had a girl. but it turned out alright they are still perfect playmates. but yea i almost cried when they told me it was a girl. i just feel sorry for Dad, when they become teenagers someone will be on the period every week. my poor dad had to deal with 3 girls too.

When I was about five,I actually tried to pee standing up. Didn't work out like I planned.

To the OP, I haven't found out what we're having yet, but, if it's a girl, I'll be really disappointed. I'd be willing to consider a trade with someone who's having a boy, but wants a girl.

my dad also raised us like little boys. we played sports from 1 grade to college. so he got his little boys

I was sad when I found out Im having a boy. I really thought I was carrying a girl, I cried a bit at the ultrasound. But now that I look back on it, I can't IMAGINE having a girl & buying pink frilly stuff. I enjoy going to look at cars & dinosaurs.

With my first son, I was so set on having a little girl. Even though, honestly, looking back I would of sooooo preferred my little boy over a little girl for a first child. I do so much better around boys than I do girls just a personality trait. I was so disappointed and hormonal I almost cried when she told me it was a boy.. then I got home and cried, lol. After a day I got over it and was excited. As for my second one, I really did want that little girl and I had little girl names picked out and everything, but once she said it was a little boy again I wasn't disappointed in the least. It turns out, as long as he/she is healthy, I'm happy!

i'm sure you're not the only one to feel this way. but all girls can be rewarding also. yes it can be hectic when theyre all teens, but it can be fun also. i babysat 3 little girls, ages 4, 2 and 18 mos. they were so fun. it would have messed up the flow of the household if there was a boy there. they got along great, entertained each other, always had someone to play with, etc. it will be fun, although i understand your downset about wanting a boy. i have a little girl and would be disappointed to have another girl also. but there's pro's and cons to it all. but i would also love to experience raising a boy and a girl. just think of all the pro's of having all girls
