re: gender disappointment ?

posted 23rd Apr
It's weird. most on here says they were hoping for a boy. I'm having a son, but my husband and I both really wanted a girl, and were a bit disappointed, esp. since wit took us forever to agree with a name haha. But seriously. Yeah, we were, but now we're great!

I was a little dissapointed when I found out I was having another boy but it was because I reeeeeaaaaallllllyyyyy did not want to try again. I wanted to stop after this one. Now I have to try again. But I absolutely adore my babies, and its nice because I am one of three girls and both of them have two girls each so my oldest was the only man for miles. Now he has his own little playmate, so its good.

I felt that way with out second and have decided with our third thatwe won't find out because we know that we won't be disappointed once she is in our arms, if she is a she   It's normal and don't feel guilty.

We have one of each, but I want #3 to be a boy.
I want it to be a boy sooooo bad!! I think I will be disappointed if I find out its a girl. I have experienced my daughter growin up and ohhh my gosh they are alot of work. Little boys love their mommys more
I guess I dont have a real reason why I dont want another girl but thats just how I feel. My husband thinks this one is a girl and its got me worried. But I have a gut feeling Im having another boy. Im having the same shitty pregnancy that I did with my son, if that has any baring.

I have 3 boys and am just tryong to gear myself up for another boy this time so that I won't have the dissapointment I had last time. I really wanted a little girl last time and cried at the ultra sound as well as for the next two weeks, but I wouldn't trade my little monster for anything.

I felt the same way with this pregnancy before we knew what we were having. Everyone kept saying boy even though I felt that it was a girl, but thought that my intuition was feeling that way because we so badly wanted a girl. I would seriously worry myself to death because I did not want to be disappointed if we were to find out that we were having another little boy, so I just tried to stay neutral.

We did end up getting our girl that we wanted, but oddly enough although I am thrilled beyond words about having one of each part of me feels bad because when I was trying to convince myself it was a boy I was thinking how cool it would be for my son to have a little playmate to do "boy" things with. But either way honestly I am thrilled. I always wanted one of each and that is what we got so we are done having kids.

When I was preggo with my first born, I really thought it was a boy. I was taking a class at the time and we got really deep into the sexism in society. When I found out I was having a girl, I went home and cried. I cried because I don't ever want my child to feel inferior. I especially don't want her to feel inferior because of her sexual organs. It took me a few days, but I resolved to teach her that no one can make her feel that way, unless she lets them. She is 19 mos. now & is a true joy. She is a kind, sweet, caring child and I know I am very lucky.

Edit to say that I am having another girl and I am happy about it. My wonderful daughter will have a playmate close to her age.

yes I know exactly how you feel when we went in for our 20 week ultrasound and it was time to find out the sex the nurse said I think it's a girl I got all choked up I was so happy to know she was healthy but I was really thinking it would be storybook and i'd get my boy since I already had a girl! then the hubby took me out for lunch and I couldn't hold back the tears I thought at the time im being a big, selfish, ungreatful brat  but I couldn't help it I think it's normal. And now im so happy she's a girl it's just so much fun & I want another girl now lol..

I'm expecting my 5th child and 4th daughter. I remember with my first I wanted a boy so bad and found out it was girl...same with the next two. I love them very much though. My 4th child I cried when I found out we were having a boy...I was so excited. But I felt really bad when I had a dream one night while I was still pregnant. In my dream I already had the baby and it was another girl. Someone came up to me and asked how the baby was and all I said was, "It's a girl." and walked away. I felt so bad. This time we were hoping for another boy so that our son would have a brother. My son actually said if it was a girl he was going to sell her and buy Transformers instead. But now we are all excited and can't wait for our litte girl to get here. My son even likes talking to her and giving her kisses (through my belly).

I have to pinch myself every day. I got exactly what I wanted in the order I wanted.

Boys are a handful but, a wonderful handful. Feel blessed for 3 happy healthy baby girls to love on. I only get one and I'm thrilled w/her.

Ah, Sadie! You always crack me up, Silly Rabbit!

My RLBFF (I love acronyms, hee hee) father wanted a girl, so her mom had 6 BOYS   then she finally got the girl (TWINS) 8 kids later, so daddy could have his girl, and he runs off with the housekeeper. Typical!!

I just started crying like a baby. I so wanted a boy.. my usband wanted a boy my mom and my dad. SO yea it happens.. but once i gave birth to her I was in love.
