I just think I remember times of not having another person in the room when my female doc was there. My Mom was in the room though, not sure if that made a difference? But I highly trust my docs, but honestly I like male OB's more. I think they are less awkward, lol. I do think it would be better not to have another person in the room just because they do make it kind of awkward at times. Especially since I am ALWAYS in the doctor lately and am in a lot of pain with my cysts and stuff, and really the less people I have in the room for my procedures the better. I just like the people I trust. But I understand protocol.

IT probably was bc your mom was there. I know when I was a minor, any time I went to see a doctor without my mom (which was almost every time after I was 16 lol) the doctor had a nurse in the room. But if someone was with me, they didn't send a nurse in. I'm guessing in most cases it also applies top OBGYNs because since the patients are naked, it puts them at a higher risk of being involved in sexual harassment cases (whether its being falsely accused or being tempted)
