So was I. I was physically dependent on my pain medication. Plenty of people use the two terms interchangeably. Someone needing help to get off of a long term medication doesn't make them a druggie who abused their meds.

I guess your right. I'm sorry, but the only people who I have ever heard of having to take it are pill heads. There is alot around here & thats always something they say their doing to get clean but then the next time you see them they are high as a kite. & if the whole story is right, it definatly sounds like he has a problem to me. He might not have even had the problem before he started trying to come off his medication.

I agree. I've been taking pain medication for my back issues ( DDD, spinal stenosis, bulging disc, joint and ligament deformities, RA and Osteoarthritis) for over two years. My doctor seems to think the dependence my body will acquire is far worse than not going without the medicine. Dependance and addiction are two separate things. Glad I'm not the only one who sees this. <3

Since some people seem interested in what happened I will update. For those that have smart remarks or think I am lying you will not get a response from me. He got home at 4 am and ended up getting the keys back and leaving the guy at some house. I wanted him to call the police, and he said he would, but he never did. I was waiting on my mom to answer my call, I didn't literally mean I was waiting on her to come. I didn't have anyone to baby sit so I couldn't go anywhere anyway unless I could wake her and my sister up which did not happen. My husband was taking his prescribed pain medication for 3 years and had a dependence on them and had to go on Suboxone, although that is irrelevant to the entire post. The man threatened to kill myself, my baby, and my husband. I will not be replying any more on this thread after this because I am tired of the bashers. The guy has not returned to his house. He told my husband that night that he took his brother's money for drugs to get him and didn't get him any so I guess he is afraid to come back. My husband has learned his lesson the hard way and will not try to help anyone ever again. If anyone is GENUINELY interested in knowing anything more you can private message me. Thank you to those who had real concern for me and my family.
