re: *NEW OFFICIAL NOVEMBER 2012 DUE DATE THREAD*

I'm a little worried about DS. he has had terrible gas cramps for days & he is constantly passing gas but he started out having A LOT of bowel movements & now he hasn't had one since Wednesday night. He doesn't pee very often either. My milk came in yesterday & it was like pulling teeth to get him to nurse. After I nursed yesterday he spit up some of it but I wasn't very concerned. Early this morning he ate but then right before I was going to reposition him so I could burp him, he puked quite a bit of milk up. Is this normal? Maybe he ate too fast or something?

When My milk first came in, It was coming out too fast for DS so maybe thats why. Also When DS starts to falls asleep at the boob, he will still suck but not swallow and it just comes drooling out his mouth lol I tickle his feet and he starts nursing again.

I have found DS gets very anxious when he gets ready to nurse so I make a shh shhh shhh noise to calm him down and he usually calms down enough to eat. Try womb sounds, DS nursed for like an hour and half while listening to it on repeat I donno if it was coincidence or not but I know he likes the sounds.

Thanks a ton! The thing is, DS gives me a hard time when latching unless SO is helping me. I think its because I hesitate because I don't wanna hurt him. Today he ate more & did better than yesterday. Only a small bit of spit up, no puke, & he finally had a big bowel movement along with several wet diapers(decent amount of pee)

Things are going well here. Noah has gained weight that they are happy with. it took him a little over 2 weeks to gain back his birth weight. He was born at 6lbs 6oz came home at 5lbs 12oz and lost another oz at home. He had a check up on Tuesday and was 6lbs 11oz! He is a great nurser, but does not sleep well unless close to be. He will be 4 weeks old on Sunday, and a month old on the 28th. He just out grew his preemie clothes this past week and his NB clothes are still big on him.

lol I wish ds was still fitting nb clothes... he was outta them before he got the chance to wear em all lol he is in 0-3 now and i have a feeling he's going to b a big boy.... I'm glad your ds is growing so well!

I was scared to hurt ds but when the lact consultant helped me out lol she made me more comfortable she was the one who really got him nursing.... i think u can call them even when u r discharged

How big was he at birth?

8.6 left the hospital at 8.4 and was 21 inches

What did you do when your milk was coming out too quick? DS doesn't want to nurse from my right boob because it pours worse than my left. He drains my left boob at every feeding though

Express the milk until its a slow drip. You can either save the milk or just dump it.

Ds doesn't like my left boob very much because Its just over the top pouring out haha. I try switch nursing atleast 4 times while he is nursing. When ever he starts to slow down or not suck as hard I switch him to the other boob and etc etc.

He eats all day so When he doesnt eat in time Ive already produced enough milk to feed two babies from each boob haha, I wanted to start saving it, but DS doesnt like bottles lol

gotcha. my guy is still fitting in his NB stuff. he was 8 lbs 14 oz and 22 inches today ( 8 lbs 3 and 21.25 in at birth)

DS had his first pedi appointment. He gained back 11oz yay!   he's starting to nurse a bit more vigorously but he keeps pushing on his umbilical cord   I'm afraid he's going to tear it off. What should I do?

We used the mittens because ds was messing with his face but I'm sure it'll help atleast a little bit with your ds puling at his cord. Idk but just trying to help. I'm glad he's nursing better! I have a feeling our ds has gained a pound atleast lol he is a chunky lil man. I'll try to upload pix when I'm on the computer :-)

Has anyone else still haven't had their baby yet?
