Yes! Skin to skin contact as soon as possible after birth. Latch the baby within his first hour of life. Make sure the top and bottom lips are both curled out. USE THE LACTATION CONSULTANT!!! Be very strict that you don't want to supplement with formula. Nurse as often as baby wants, don't try to set a schedule... And it WILL hurt a lot the first week...

I am jealous of everyone that got to wait for their babys to come on their own   if babys fluid wasn't low & he'd kept growing I would have waited as long as possible for him to pick his birthday

I've read & found that using breast milk works better than lanolin. Let some dry on before you put it away

My nipples hurt like crazy..it feels like someone took sandpaper to them! Lol but I am determined to at least ebf for the 6 weeks I'm off work whether I have nipples left or not lol I haven't even given her a ninny yet

Congrats to everyone on their babies and those still waiting on their babies to arrive! I'm so glad I found this group its def helped me from going insane this pregnancy! Haha

Im 3, almost 4 days over due now! I want to be done so bad, lol. But Im hopng at least that Ill have him or her by Tuesday. I will have 2 children born on the 2nd of the month (diff months though) and two born on the 20th lol.

At 6:38am they started me on pitocin. The broke my water at 10:45am. From 6:38am-1pm I had absolutely no pain meds but with my back cramping up as much as it was I couldnt take it anymore & got the epidural. I was only dialated to 4cm(I arrived at 2cm)I just personally couldnt handle the pain   I did what I set out to do though, I tried. After they gave me my epi I slept for 1 & 1/2 hours & when they checked me I was 6cm when I woke up. The nurse was doing work on the computer & i asked her to check me because I felt like i'd peed but it was just more fluid but blood was there this time. She checked me again & in less than 45 minutes i'd dialated to 9cm. they set me on my side propped up so the baby could descend into my pelvis the rest of the way. When she came back at 4 I was fully dialated so they turned me over & had me start pushing. After 7 hard pushes I gave birth to my son Ezekiel at 4:17pm. He weighed 6lbs & 14oz(1 oz more than I weighed as a baby), he was 19.5 inches long(0.5 inches longer than I was as a baby) & he was beautiful. I'd never felt so complete.
