Did u see your normal OB? Cuz they are supposed to check you later, I've never heard them doing it earlier than 35/36 weeks.... I would ask next time you go back to be sure! Better safe than sorry!

Yep, its the same OB I've had throughout my entire pregnancy

That's great! I used one for a little while at the hospital last time.. Can't really remember if it helped that much, but I was still in early labor.
So... my last appointment, my midwife told me to look over the information & decide if I wanted to get the Group B Strep test... If tested positive, then you have to be on antibiotics during labor & delivery for it, right?... I'm allergic to all Cillins (penicillin, amoxycillin) Would they have something else to give me if needed?

Lol wow we are going through like the same thing... Im allergic to every antibiotic I've ever had. I'm awaiting my GBS results right now and it's nerve wracking.

My midwife told me that you have several options being GBS positive and having a home birth. One is to go to the hospital at the onset o labor and recieve antibiotics, but with that you would have to go back every six hours and then risk them trying to convince you to stay. The next option which I will do if I'm GBS positive is a hybicleanse I believe it's called. It's a liquid that you squirt in and around your vagina with a peri bottle every 4 hours at home. It is supposed to kill all bacteria in the vagina to reduce baby being exposed to anything.

You'd have to ask your midwife though. I know some won't even deliver at home if you have GBS.

Thanks, she's supposed to be here in a few minutes.. I'll ask her about the hybicleanse thing. I'm just hoping that if I were positive, that I'll have another alternative!.. I wouldn't want to end up in the hospital with another c-section, just because I can't have antibiotics or something. Hopefully she'll do it either way, since she just told me to decide if I wanted to be tested for it.

I know, me too!! I talked to her & she said they usually do the hybicleanse for everyone if positive, so that's good! Now waiting on the results too  

What should I do if my dr isn't planning to test me for GBS again? One of his nurses told me they tested me for it when I got my first pap smear but that was months & months ago. Everything I've read about the test says its usually given between 35-37 weeks so I'm feeling a little uneasy about it. I'm going to call them Monday but my next appointment isn't until halloween

I'd just ask them again at ur appt and see maybe ur nurse didn't know what she was talking about?

Got checked yesterday and I'm 1.5cm...crazy!

lucky! i got checked at my 36 wk appt not my 37 wk but i was absolutely NOTHING, still High and closed!! ...... :-( i have a feeling i'm gunna be way overdue AGAIN lol.

Don't worry, it doesn't really mean anything if you're not progressing yet. I had no progress at 39 weeks with my first and I still went into labor on my due date

I would insist that they test you again. Maybe the nurse is just mistaken?

well thank you, that gives me some hope! lol. i hated sitting there every day i was overdue with non stop calls and texts asking if i had the baby yet. I was like if i HAD you would KNOW! Plus i was sooooo uncomfortable i pretty much cried every day til i had her :-(

Sorry you were overdue! I really hope I don't go over with this one. Just 16 days until my due date though so it isn't long!

My baby shower went great! I got almost everything I needed & seeing everyone was awesome.
