Doing great here! Dexter turned 1 month this past Monday. He is about 9ish pounds now. Still exclusively breastfed....I've had to cut out all dairy from my diet. Hard to do but when you have a SCREAMING baby at 4 am it's a no brainer on what choice to make! Also hoping that this helps me lose some much needed weight so yay for small goals!

I'm trying to find some sort of routine to his daily life to help make mine easier. Some days I have lots of sleep, some I get none.....it'd be nice to find a pattern to work with!   It's all a learning experience...whether its your first or fifth kid!

Brayden cries after I feed him. So I offer the breast again and he eats more. I've given him the soothie but he hates it. So for now I'm his paci. My first son had a paci from day one. I see nothing wrong with them. Brayden is my first exclusive breastfed baby so I don't know if that's why he doesn't like it.

Aria is showing little interest in her pacifier...She'll take the soothie for a minute or two sometimes and then spit it out. I tried giving her a MAM one and she didn't like that at all. She'd rather use me as a pacifier, which is fine.

Off-topic, my Moby came today and I love it

Sorry girls, I haven't been on here for a while. This is going to be a long post. Been kinda stressed lately. In my opinion Riley is doing great but I got a call from the doctor on Sunday telling me that she recommends we take him to a pediatric cardiologist because he has a heart murmur. Up until that phone call we were told by all the doctors that saw him that it was benign and should go away on it's own. Tuesday the doctor called me again to tell me that she got his newborn screening results and he's a carrier for Cystic Fibrosis and needs a diagnostic test to see if he has it. I didn't like the way she was handling things so I asked my sisters-in-law who they take their babies to. I called one of them up and he got us in this morning. He listened to Riley's heart and didn't hear a murmur at all. He looked him over and said he looked great. The only worry he had is that Riley is 3 1/2 weeks old and is just now back at his birth weight. I don't think that's a problem since he was 10 lbs 6 oz on the 3rd and today he was 10 lbs 12 oz. That's 6 oz in 6 days. I think he's gaining well now. It just took him a little while to get the hang of eating every couple hours. When he was born he only wanted to eat every 4-5 hours. Now he eats every couple hours. The new pediatrician asked me to pump exclusively for 2 days and keep track of what I get and what Riley eats. So far today I've pumped 14 oz more than he has eaten. With the amount of milk I have in my freezer I know I don't have a supply issue but I have to prove that to the doctor by documenting it. He called and got the results of the CF screening and told me that normal is a 65 and Riley tested at 75. He said he thinks it was either a false positive or that Riley is a carrier but doesn't have it. I hope he's right. We'll be getting a sweat test done to find out for sure. We go back on Saturday for a weight check and so I can prove to him that I don't have an issue supplying enough milk for my boy. Hopefully he will have gained a few more ounces by then so they can all stop worrying about his weight. You would think being almost 11 lbs at birth was enough that he could be a little slow gaining since he's already the size of my 2 month old niece and she's thought to be doing great.

Sounds like things are going great. Breastfeeding can take a while since it's a learned experience on both sides... Definitely sounds like things are on track!

Things are going great for us too. Loving life and being a mother of two. Gus is 3 1/2 weeks old and SUCH a chunker. He loves to feed, feed, feed all day and sleep very well at night, waking 3-4 hours. So happy.

Has absolutely everyone here had their baby?

I think most pedi want to use the same scale for bf and formula babies. I agree since he was so big that it just took a little time to get back. Sounds like your doing great!i hope you get good news about the cf. I know it's a horrible disease, I have a friend who's daughter has it. She had symtoms early.

Got newborn/family pictures done last night!! Can't wait to see them   violet is doing awesome and will be 4 weeks on Monday :-/ it's going by so fast but I'm enjoying this little love bug to the fullest extent. Carter is awesome with her- & has made me such a proud mama. These two are more than enough for us, so the plan still remains that they are the only two   not on birth control & am declining because I'm afraid it's going to interfere with nursing. Glad to hear everyone's babies are doing well!

Crystal I hope it was a false positive! I will keep you and your little guy in my thoughts!

I don't know why you're so against them- i wouldn't force it on him but if it makes him happy don't stress it. I have no problem at all with pacis, even the doctor said it reduces SIDS by a considerable amount. So think of it that way.

I hope the screenings come back alright and that they leave you alone about his weight!

I think everyone in our thread has had their babies.

Dex will usually sleep a good 3-4 hour stretch once during the night but I definitely can't rely on having it! Glad everything is going great for you!
