I'm trying to hold off on the paci stone he's only a week old. . I just don't want to take a chance on nipple confusion or somehow interfering with milk production. . But if other moms are still holding when sleeping in cool with that for another week or two.. then may introduce paci. Never needed one for my other 3 so I'm a little stubborn when it comes to that.

My son would never take one, so I never used one with him. With Aria, I use it sparingly when she gets really fussy, and only the soothie kind. Mostly I put her to breast when she gets that way...she does like to cluster feed in the evening. Anyways, hasn't seemed to interfere with nursing or anything. I haven't introduced bottles yet and don't plan to until I have to go back to work.

Off-topic, here is baby girl at 2 weeks 1 day:

My first slept in his bouncer/swing most of the time as a newborn. After a feeding at night I'd try to lay him down into his crib. Just kept trying to get him used to it. He is a great sleeper now.

My baby now is starting to have some troubles with sleeping. Unless he's with daddy. *sigh.*

Dexter was spitting up mucus and gross stuff after birth too. I had to keep suctioning it out. Worried me too.

We have a pack n play that he sleeps in in our room too. He sleeps in his bouncer in the living room a lot though with whoever is on baby duty. I've fallen asleep with him a few times and DH gets mad at me.

Stayed at the hospital last night with my mom (she had a hysterectomy) to help her out. Dex has slept the whole time we've been there the past few days so I figured it'd be okay. Nope! He was awake and CRYING all night! I was no help to my mom at all!

Yesterday he had some serious green poop and some tinges of bloody mucus. The top reason I'm finding is that he probably has a sensitivity to my having dairy products. So I guess its time to cut that out of my diet BUT I'M HAVING A HARD TIME ALREADY! I love milk and cheese! I almost cried trying to find lunch bc I couldn't have pizza, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, any leftovers in my fridge.....I'm already a vegetarian :/

This child passed out the minute I handed him to his daddy this morning. I slept until 3 since I literally got nothing last night.

DD prefers to sleep on Daddy too! I was up with her until 3 a.m. and finally woke him up (even though it was supposed to be my night) and within minutes the little brat was sound asleep. Sigh. Figures...I carry her for nine months and push her out and she prefers Daddy. Looks just like him, too. You'd think I had nothing to do with it...

She only wants me for the boobs!

Funny...I still got a mommas boy..but only 7 days.. maybe I'll check out the soothing paci but I just am afraid my DH will use it as a lazy tool.

Yep. I think thats why he couldn't sleep last night. A bit of upset tummy and he couldn't stop smelling me....so he thought he needed a constant boob.

I am 100% with you mama. DD has had some green poop and has been fussy so I also did some rearch and found the green is more than likely due to dairy. I also cut that out as much as I can for now (milk cheese ect) to see if it helps. I guess 2-3% of babies are affected by dairy but it can take 2-3 weeks to fully get out of my system and another week or two to fully get out of hers.

I really think a good portion of our issue is with my fast letdown of milk and a little more production than she can handle. She clicks, chokes, and fusses when my milk lets down so I have to pull her off frequently so she remembers to breath when she eats and doesnt swallow so much air! So far this is really helping with the spitting up and fussing due to gas.

Good luck and we can have our own "dairy envy group". *sigh*

Pulled out the cloth! Just using them briefly at home....the amount of diapers he goes through is INSANE! Makes his little scrawny butt HUGE lol

If it's lactose intolerance you're concerned about, cheese doesn't have a whole lot of lactose in it, so he may still be okay with it. As for the milk? Lactose free milk is great. Expensive, but tastes just like regular milk and you can cook with it just the same (yay mac and cheese!) Hope you figure out what the cause is and that it clears up soon!
