I have a 6.5 month old and I make her food, make sure the freezing containers you buy seal good! Also I wouldn't do a lot until you know what he/she likes. I like to bake her food because it keeps more flavor! Always bake it with the peal, all of the nutrition is in the peal! Also this website is where I get all of my recipes and she loves them! http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/

As far as I know, you cut it in fours, take out all the seeds and mushy part, then steam the rest. Then cut or peel off the skin, or even remove the skin before you steam.
Cut into small pieces and puree.   Add breastmilk, formula, or water.

Just wanted to post some of my 8.5 month old fav recipes. To share them with anyone who wants to use them. lol All are good even if they have no teeth, mine doent. lol

Lo loves her food, and making everything is so much more healthier.

9-12 months
Pasta Risotto
1/2 c. orzo or star pastas
1 small carrot,peeled and diced
1 samll zucchini,diced
1/2c. broccoli florets
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2c. grated cheddar cheese

Put pasta in a saucepan together with the carrots, cover generously with boiling water, and cook for 5 minutes. Add the zucchini and broccoli and continue to cook for 7 min. Melt butter and toss in saucepan, stir in the drained pasta and veggies and toss with the melted butter and cheddar.

You can run it trhough the food processor to break down into a smoother texture, if needed. I dont tho. Lo loves texture.

Tasty Turkey Bolognese 9-12months
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion chopped
1 glove of garlic,crushed
2 small carrots,peeled and grated
5 ounces ground turkey (or chicken)
1/2 teaspoon fresh thyime leaves or a pinch of dried thyme
1/2 c. canned crushed tomatoes
1/2c, chicken or veggie stock (homemade will post how to make both)
1 ounce spagetti, I use alphabets or stars.

Heat oil in a saucepan, add the onion and garlic, and saute for 3 min, stiring occasionally. Add the carrots and continue to cook for 3 minutes. Add the ground turkey (or chicken) cook for 3 minutes. Add the thyme, crushed tomatoes and the veggie stock, bring to a boil and then simmer, covered for 15 minutes.

Boil water (unsalted water) cook the pasta according to package. If using long noodles drain and chop into smaller pieces. You can use a hand blender or food proccessor to break down the texture or serve like it is. Adding pasta in last (after you blend it together)

Veggie stock
1 onion
1 clove of garli
2large carrots
1large leek,washed
1 stalk of celery, trimmed
1 tablespoon olive oil
31/2c. cold water
1bouquet garni or a mixture of fresh herbs (sprig of thyme, parsley, and oregano and a bay leaf)
4 black peppercorns

Roughly chop all the veggies. Heat the oil in a large heavy bottomed saucepan and saute the onion and garlic for 2 minutes. Add the rest of the veggies and cook over low heat for 5 minutes to soften in the oil without browning. Pour in the water and bring to a boil then add the garni and peppercorns. reduce heat and cover and simmer for 1 hour. Leave to cool for 2 hours, then strain the veggies out with a sieve. Squeeze the extra liquid out by mash the veggies in the sieve.

Chicken stock
Carcass from a roast chicken or about 2lbs chicken bones, chopped into pieces.

3 large carrots,peeled
1 parsnip.peeled
1 large leek,washed
2 onions
1 stalk celery,trimmed
small bunch of parsley
sprig of thyme
1 bay leaf
4 black peppercorns
8 cups of boiling water

But carcass into a large saucepan. Roughly chop al lthe vegies and add to the pot withthe herbs and peppercorns.Pour water in and bring to a boil and then remove all the surface sediments with a slotted spoon, half cover the pot and simmer gently for 1 1/2 hours or till liquid is reduced by half. Allow to cool then leave in the fridge overnight. Remove and congealed fat from the top in the morning starin the chicken and veggies to make the stock.

Banana and cherry 7-9 months
6 sweet cherries,halved and pitted
1tablespoon water
1banana
1tablespoon baby rice cereal (or oatmeal)

put cherries into a small pan together with the water and simmer for 2 minutes. Mash the banana add to the cooked cherries and simmer for just a minute puree using handheld electric blender a stir in cereal.

A note most ppl dont know.
Cherries stimulate the immune system and help prevent infection. They are also good for a child with constipation.

My dd fav snack is
1 avocado mashed
1 banana mashed
2 tablespoons of vanilla yogurt
a sprinkle of wheat germ

Mash it all together and serve cold. Note adding in a squirt of lime juice allows you to put leftovers in the fridge the banana will not turn brown

1 avocado
1 cube of tofu
2tablespoons of vanilla yogurt
mashed it together and serve.

And that it for now. Enjoy.
