what does everyone use to puree? I jar fed my first and this time I'm really interested in making his food! Will start food in about a month give or take ;) I've been doing a little reading on that whole food site, but I like discussions much better ;)

Thanks!!

Just wash the veggies with water and a scrubby (keep the scrubby just for your baby's food). You can use the water you boiled the veggies in when you puree if you want. I've never heard of just feeding the water to your baby but I guess I don't see anything wrong with it. Sounds weird though!! lol.

We use our kitchenaid mixer with the grinder/puree attachment. I've also used a blender for a mushier (is that a word?) puree. Ive heard great things about the bullet (or baby bullet) but never used one myself.

Thats what I thought, I went and picked up my coupons and they had baby food on them, so I asked the lady if there was any way to do this different and she had no idea and I told her I wasn't going to use the jars so if took them it would be taking from someone else. She then told me I had to talk to the dietician, who was busy so I have to make an appt and go back, I told them originally that I was going to make his food, but they must not have put that in the computer

Getting my baby bullet next saturday SO EXCITED to get started! I'm ready to start making it, not ready to feed my son yet   He turned 5 mo yesterday and so i guess i will start his cereal tomorrow. He seems ready. So i guess we are going to start this new adventure   I will probably be on here often looking for advice. So hopefully we can liven this up a bit ;) ha ha so for all you baby chefs out there this is what is on my list:

veggie scrubber
strainer
baby bullet

what else do i need? and any certain kind of food strainer i should get? I feel dumb asking but I want to do this right the first time

WIC here in Minnesota gives you $10 worth of canned/frozen/fresh fruits/veggies. But that has nothing to do with the 'baby food' part. You don't have to get everything your WIC vouchers include.

I get it for myself right now, and I have been using it for his food instead of for me lol, but I didn't know if maybe they would switch out the baby food for fresh veggies on his coupons.

I will find out soon though because I have to call tomorrow to make an appt to ask them about it.
