What is the best thing to cover the ice cube trays with? Aluminum or saran wrap?

I didnt cover mine. Ive only done green beans so far though. Should the trays be covered? I have area in my freezer that is perfect for the trays.

I never covered my trays.. i only froze them long enough to get hard and then transferred them to Ziploc bags

The only issues with those is that they tend to have additional salt (for preservation) in them.

For ease and salt-free options, you could look at the steam bags in the freezer section. Super easy!

If you freeze the baby food do you lose the nutrients?

So, you freeze them and put them into the bags then they go back in the freezer?

yes mam! i just froze them long enough to make the cubes solid and then put them into gallon ziplocs and labeled the bags with sharpie and tossed them back in! then at meal times i popped the # of cubes into a bowl that i wanted and heated them up for about 20-30 secs.   ( i also used a tablespoon when filling my trays.. so i knew that each cube was about 2 tablespoons )  

Hi ladies I just wanted to stop in and tell you about something i bought today that made peeling easier (well for me it was easier). I bought that titan peeler u see on tv from walmart. Im making sweet potatoes so i knew that it would be hard to peel.

I love this thing. Ive only used the peeler so far and it came with another peeler also. Ok going to puree the sweet potatoes. lol
