I have never used an electric steam but i see no reason why not! You can strain it because some of the things have little bits to get out and you will have a much smoother puree(the part in the bowl)

An electric steamer should work just fine.

As for the additional straining, I never did that. I just used my food processor excessively  .

The straining comes from those who are just boiling the veggies in water, instead of using a regular steamer. Either way works. I would imagine that a real steamer would keep the nitrates out of things better. IIf you're planning on starting solids at four months that mightis important. When can babies have berries? It just hit me today that the waffles we've been eating in the morning have blueberries in them and I was mid-feeding her yogurt today when I realized it was strawberry flavored. She's had both of those things numerous times unfortunately : / If she showed no signs of reaction could I continue these in her diet or stop letting her have them until she's 1? BTW she's 10 months old.

okay whew! I think I thought it was fine because when we go on vacation we buy Earth's Best and they had berries in their stage 2s so I did not think anything of it then I heard it was bad. : /
She loves them though so yahh!

Blueberries are fine Carter eat's them too, but berries with seeds like raspberries and strawberries they suggest waiting until a year, but I'm sure strawberry flavored yogurt is different, I wouldn't give her fresh strawberries until checking with your pedi first though.

i'd like to introduce juice next. we did green beans tonight and he loved them so a few more days of those and then i'd like to get some juice in him. so i'd like recommendations of how to go about this, should i stick to the bottle or try a sippy? and should i just buy regular juice and water it down or buy special juice?
