What Made You Do It?

I'm not on here to judge or put anyone down, but I've never considered abortion. Personally its something I find to be wrong except for in certain cases(such as rape for instance) so when I became pregnant 9 months ago the idea never crossed my mind. Adoption had, but never abortion.
So here I am trying to understand just why someone would choose this?

Because that is what was best for them at the time. You think people have them for smurfs and giggles?

With a topic such as abortion you are most likely to get negative comments ... I would've put this in D&D personally, not AS.

I'll put my opinion in when it's in there. Cos the women in AS deserve a bit of respect.

Thats what I was getting at. I was simply asking what made people do it, their situations and the effects there of. I dont know why you took it so offencively but it was merely an honest question. I have strong opinions on this topic, but never stopped to think about the other side of it. Now that I am expecting I'm trying to veiw the world in as many ways as possible. Part of doing so it to hear peoples stories. To learn. Thats what I'm trying to do. Also I didnt appreciate the language- there really was no need for cursing.

Maybe people are being offensive because you are posting in a forum where all the women in it had abortions and you are pretty much voicing how wrong you think they were when they did what they needed to do for themselves and/or their families.

You needed to post this in another forum like Debate and Discuss or Free for All.

I meant that I've never thought of getting an abortion before. Never thought of its pros and cons. I've only had negative things to say about it. But since I'm not one who enjoys offending people I wont state my opinion.

I had mine due to the fact that I was young, 19 at the time, and the father and I had split up becuse he was severely abusive to me. I couldnt picture raiseing a child in that senario, not married, pretty much on my own bouncing from friends houses, only making minimum wage and on top of it all an abusive smurf head as the father. Sorry but I couldnt have me and my kid be a wefare case and I knew I could not carry a child to term just to give it away like it meant nothing to me. So I opted for an abortion. Do I regret it not really. Do I cry over it some times, yes, but I know it was the right decision givin the situation.

I have had an abortion before and I understand where you're coming from. Some people are dramatic and can't see past that so I will give you my answer lol. Well I was the same as you before it happened. I thought that people were horrible for getting an abortion unless they were raped. But then when I was 17 about to graduate high school, I got pregnant and was in a seriously toxic relationship. My mom ended up making me do it, I didn't want to but she told me I would thank her later(i've always been able to trust my mom). I felt like a horrible person and it was hard for a long time to forgive myself. But I ended up going through hell with that psycho and I've thanked my mom since he beat the crap out of me and I finally left because I would've been tied to him for a very long time and my mom saw something back then that I couldn't. So for the most part I think that if you decide to have sex and not use protection and get pregnant then that is their problem. BUT there is so many things that can drive someone to make that decision like: not having any support, not being able to support theirself and it would be wrong to bring a child in the world, or reproducing with someone that shouldnt be reproducing. I wouldn't take it back because it brought me to where I am today and I wouldn't be the same person.

Next time, realize what area you're posting in. This does not belong in AS.
