Quoting mommyroxx:“ The doctors told us that they want us to call them if I get a headache that Tylenol doesn't take care ... [snip!] ... for several years and we check my BP all the time I knew without checking that it was my BP that was causing my headache.”
I never take medicine, but I'll have to pay attention to how long they last from now on.

Wow ... I'm really sorry about you having high blood pressure. I hope things go well for both you and the baby. My thoughts and prayers will be with you both.

I couldn't sleep last night because I read about having vision problems also as a sign (which I've had since I got prego, just like last time) ... I got all worked up. Ugh.   I think what's mostly crazy about the symptoms is that they are also normal symptoms of this stage in pregnancy ... it makes life a little complicated.

Anyway, best wishes.

Tuesday morning update...
After9-5 Mondayof pitocin and lots of contractions, I still was not dilated so we stopped the pitocin and put another cervadil in.
The plan is to remove the cervidal at 6:30 this morning,
start pitocin at 7:00 am and see how things go.
Hopefully we'll get some dilation today becuase I really don't want to have a c-section (I've had abdominal surgeries before and I *hate* not being able to sit up or twist).

Igot a little sleep last night. My uterus quivered all night with lots of "heavy cramps" so it was tough at times, but neither of us slept at all Sunday night, so I was tired enough to sleep 30-45 minutes at a time several times through the night.

So far the baby looks great on the monitors! Good heartbeat with lots of movement. Her typical resting heartbeat is 115-125. When I have a contraction, her heartbeat goes up to the 145-165 range then goes right back down as the contraction eases.

One morning about 4 weeks ago, (aweek before my first "protein in the urine" test came back positive), my vision went blurry and they had me immediately call my husband to take me to L&D. This was the first sign we had that my hypertension had returned (it had gone away during the second trimester).

They started me on aldomet and eventually procardia (which supposedly helps stop preterm contracion), but my BP wouldn't cooperate.

Oh - while I've been typing this up... they've added antibiotics to the drugs and are starting a 2nd IV in my other arm for insulin (just in case).

I now have:
Left Arm:IV site for Insulin
Left Leg: BP cuff
Right arm: IV site with Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and Antibiotics.

Good luck hun, at least all the bad will be over soon. I know the mag is awful! I too was hospitalised 5 times, my BP was high from 17 weeks and confirmed pre-eat 5 months pregnant. Thats great you have made it to 33.5 weeks, im sure you will not be in hospital for long at all.I ended up with HELLP & heart failure and had to stay in hospital for 19 days, so they are definately doing the right thing by inducing you now! best wishes x

4 hours of pitocin today and practically no contractions at all... then they started up at 3-4 minute intervals... then they went away again!

They have "typed" me for blood and are bringing in the c-section supplies (my husband's gown, etc.). It's not "set in stone" yet, but... looks like a csection is in our cards for either tonight or tomorrow.
