ovulation after an MC

I posted this in the TTC section, but haven't received very many responses and I know there are ladies out there that have had a MC...so I was wondering how likely is it to ovulate 2 weeks after an MC? I was 5 weeks when I miscarried so I'm wondering if I should treat it like a period and expect to ovulate like normal. Has anyone ovulated that soon?

I have never MC but i do know that after a MC is the point when your most fertile, i wouldnt try though, your body deffinetly needs some time to heal. sorry to hear about your MC

No I'm getting it just fine, I just wanted a few more opinions...that's all.

Yeah, I've heard that too...me and my DH should be more careful  . I've heard that if it's early enough and not a complicated MC the reason why they want you to wait at least one cycle is so they can track your due date. I guess I'll just have to wait and see! Thanks for your opinion  

I think she just wanted more opinions/ advice. I miscarried on thesomewhere around the 14th and I was suppose to ovulate around the 17-21 or something like that. So my doctor hurried and got me on bc.

I had a d&c oct 25, 2007. Got a period but then I must have ovulated late because I got preggo again in Dec.
You are very fertile after d&c just like after giving birth

I didnt have to have a d&c * thank god*because it was so early. Im not sure about the op but I am guessing no.

No I didn't have to have a D&C either. They let it happen naturally and it lasted about as long as a period would and about as heavy. So, with all that I've read about being really fertile after an MC I guess there is a good chance. I wouldn't be upset, but I will certainly be PARANOID! I don't want to go through another loss  

I understand completely. Its one of those i would not want anyone else to go through it, but Why me? 

I had 2 m/c just like you. I didnt need a D&C cuz I was only 6 weeks on both and they both "passed" naturally (I saw them...so sad i wanted my babies)...   
I did answer this on your other post.. the reason why you should wait at least a month to TTC after a m/c is not for due date..its for your health.. pregnancy does more to our body than meets the eye....its not just physical..its chemical..by that I mean your body is so OVERRIDDEN with hormones that it needs to slow down..realize you are not pregnant anymore and reverse everything pregnancy did. like your uterus too.. it needs to heal.. it needs to go back to normal. its like a balloon.. you put air on it and as soon as you let it out it deflates..kinda the same.. my doc really emphasized I wait at least two months to TTC because once you miscarry if you get pregnant right away your chances of miscarrying again are pretty high..give your body at least on cycle to heal..then TTC again... why rush things ..if you rush and get pregnant and miscarry again wouldnt that make you feel awful?..wouldnt that make you think..I should let my body heal so its better prepared to hold a baby fullterm?..right?... I wish you teh best girly.. It took me more than 2 montsh though.. it has been a year but Im a complicated case I have PCOS..my body attacks the fetus..so I need to confirm ASAP if my BFP is real so I dont miscarry once again..that would just Do it for me!! I dont know if I can handle a 3rd miscarriage. So best of luck to you girly and take vitamins and eat healthy prepare your body so when you get PG again..its in best shape again to hold a baby full term!

Thanks for your reply Ruthie. I completely see the reason why women should wait to conceive after a m/c. I've heard some pretty conflicting things, but I know it's best to wait. Me and my DH have every intention of waiting, but I guess we were kind of gambling with our odds last night. We aren't ttc, but I guess we should have been more careful. I would feel terrible if I lost another baby again, but I don't think I have ovulated yet...a lot of times I can tell and I haven't had those symptoms yet. Plus I think my body is still going through the whole process b/c of the milk production and such. We have decided to wait until July, so that should be 2 or 3 cycles. If I happen to be pregnant this soon...which I can't say I wish I wasn't  ....my doctor said to feel free to come in and get my blood checked whenever I feel necessary. The standard at his office is to wait 10 weeks before an u/s but he said he could see me as soon as 6. Soooo I guess I will have to wait the dreaded 2 or so weeks to know for sure! I think I would be really nervous to get pregnant so soon again if I mc later. I mean I was soooo early that some women wouldn't have even known. That doesn't make it any better, but my body was able to recover easier than having a D&C. Sheeeesh, why do I do this to myself? ha ha, I will keep you posted and I really hope you have that for sure BFP...you soooo deserve it! Thanks again xxxx...Andrea

Hi Girly.. I didnt want to like get your hopes down... If you do get pregnant then take extra care...take your prenatals already and folic acid. I wish you the best girly..... and yes So cool of your doc to do an u/s at 6 weeks.... thats how found out I was Pg with my son.. I had no symptoms whatsoever was late though so did a blood test came back negative..that same week since I was on Fertility meds I asked doc what happened?..Why it didnt work..so he did and u/s to see if my tubes were blocked or something..and BINGO!!.. He was like wait.. wait (I saw liek a black bubble) and he focused on it..and then we saw something like movig..he said ok Ruth listen to this.. A HEARTBEAT!!! I was 6 w and like 3 days I think!!! Im praying you geta BFP!! Just take extra care ok?

Oh no you didn't get my hopes down...actually the reason why I posted this question was b/c I was kind of concerned it may be too soon. I've just heard all these things about how you're really fertile after an mc and I got to thinking...wait I'm almost 14 days after mine...what am I THINKING! I guess you just don't think sometimes  . Then there's the other side where you're like...well it wouldn't be so bad, because it hurts so bad going through and m/c so your initial thoughts are "I want to be pregnant NOW". I certainly don't want anything to go wrong b/c of my carelesness. I did lots of research online last night and found some helpful information. A lot of sites say to definately wait, but then some say that your chances of another mc don't necessarily go up if you conceive immediately...I guess there are so many different opinions out there it's hard to know for sure. I think one of the sites broke it down like this:
1 miscarriage : 11%
2 miscarriages : 24%
3 miscarriages: 40%
4 miscarriage: 54%
Not sure if that's EXACT, but it's close. I know I'm excited to be able to come in sooner the next time, but I think I'll do an u/s at 8 or so weeks. I don't want to go in there and not see a heartbeat and freak out! That's cool that you found out that way...that would be awesome! Thanks again for your concern and I will take extra care if things should go that way. We'll find out soon...I think I'll wait 3 weeks or so and if no AF then I'll test. Thanks girly!
