well breastfeeding CAN cause more dryness down there, but at this far out from birth, I would think it would start to be at least tolerable, if not pleasurable by now. I would def bring that up with my dr / OB.

I just read the entire OP and this is a great thread. Asher is 4 1/2m and we're planning on starting at 6m if he's ready. I've got to read more into BLW though.

We started cereal with Addison (in the bottle at first--didn't know better) Then started spoon feeding it to her at 4 months. She's 4 1/2 now and has no allergies, but that's just her-she was also FF.

Want to do things differently with little fat man.

hi and welcome to the thread! glad you found us! you can wait longer than 6m too, if you want to. I started at 12m with my first son.

Oh really! That's cool. We'll see if he's ready at 6m, if not, I don't mind waiting.  

LO will be 6months on March 6th and he seems to be showing alot of the signs of being ready to eat solids. he can sit up unsupported, he seems interested in what we are eating and i tried giving him a taste of cooked carrots the other day ( it was mushed not pureed) and he seemed to chew it and like it. I really want to wait loger but is it mean to eat in front of him and not share our food if he is so interested?

If you really want to wait, then he'll be fine. But from what you posted, he sounds like he's ready.

I just googled it. I found the Wholesome Babyfood site and Jill Rappley(I believe that's her last name). Lots of great BLW info on both sites.

Hey! this is an awesome thread I'm glad I noticed it here.
my daughter is just about 6 months (this friday) and I tried to give her some avocado the other day, she licked it lol but when I got it in her mouth she made a face and pushed it out. does this mean she isn't ready yet? or that she just doesn't like avocado ?

if her tongue pushed it out, then she's not ready yet.

Did anyone let their babies have tastes of things (like a small smear of something on your finger) before 6 months?

Long time, no BG.

Liam is 11 months. He still wont really eat much, at all. Hes been having a funky sleeping schedule lately and it seems like his naps have gotten longer and I have this silly fear that he is anemic or something.

My family makes comments like he is so freaky for not eating. (They are ones to spoon feed cereal at 3 months, so eh.)
