Quoting Kenley's Mama*:" Hi I'm a first time mom to a 3 1/2 month old baby girl. I have been doing alot of research on delaying ... [snip!] ... for formula fed babies or do i need to do anything different with how long i wait to start solids or anything like that?"
most of the stuff will still apply to you as a formula feeding mom. The most important thing to watch for is the signs of readiness (they are in the OP if you missed them). Generally, with FF babies, it's ok to start solids closer to the 6 month mark (whereas with BF babies, it's better to delay closer to 9-12m if possible) as long as they show ALL the signs of readiness.
Formula acts differently on a baby's digestive system than breastmilk does, so there is not a great "benefit" in delaying a FF baby (with all the signs of readiness) past the 6-8m mark.
If you'd like more specifics on that, just let me know and I'll get you some links. =D
