my daughter would have episodes and well she still does she not on the c pap anymore ages on the other thing. eventually she will remember to breath. i remember the first time my daughter got her first feed. she just turned one month the 18th and well she is 32 weeks. she had her first bottle feeding on thursday! she finished all her milk today and she finished all her milk yesterday. just watch your baby will be fine. my friends daughter was born early too and she only weighed 16 ounces at birth now she weighs 3 pounds. but have faith in god!

my mother started to make me chocolate and man after that i was leaking so bad cause i was full of milk and man i would fill so many bottles. the chocolate is called abuelita its in a yellow box. just put a lot of milk into a pot and throw the piece of chocolate in there and let it melt into it and when its done just drink it make sure you are drinking constantly and you will have so much milk and make sure that when its cold outside you are covered up really good. lol i just realized i sound like my mom. i mean the milk bank told me i have to bring some milk back home cause they had so much of my milk.

i know i didn't mention this but you have to melt the chocolate into the milk its going to come in like a hard block of chocolate okay. if you need any help pm me and i will are what i can you with okay.

Mothers tea.......for your boobie milk!! And I never knew this until I had a preemie make sure you breastsheilds or w/e its called on your breast pump isnt to small my milk took fforever to come inbc my nipples were to big for the standard size

They give me bigger sheild but I still think they are to small because the milk runs down my breast instead of going in the bottle.

If you run into trouble with your milk supply, they will probably use donor breastmilk. That's what happened with me, I was only pumping 2 ounces a day total and couldn't get any more milk to come in, so they put my daughter on the donor milk. My NICU said that for the first month at least the preemies need breastmilk (for the antibodies in it).They often times fortifythe breastmilk with powdered suppliments to give the babiesan extra calorie boost.

yep thats what they did with my daughter.......also what they did with her was put food thickener in it cuz she was having trouble swallowing and breathing at the same time.....just a little tip if yall run into that kind of problem....cuz my daughter would have been home alot earlier if they did that in the first place

Pump as much as you can and tell the nurses you want her to have as much breastmilk as possible. However, keep in mind that most preemies need formula for the calories and nutrients. Usually even if you have enough milk, they will have you give them a bottle a few timesa day and/or fortify the breastmilkto make sure they get the nutrients and calories they need. My girls are 17 1/2 weeks and still getting 24 calorie food to fatten them up, boy is it working. lol
