re: My tummy tuck and breast revision surgery thread

So now Im re thinking my tummy tuck. I just had my tubes tied yesterday and wow it was pretty painful. I woke up in so much pain, and the first thing I said was "Screw that Im not getting my tummy tuck" I am SO thankful that I decided to put my surgeries off until I paid down a little on my debt because my son was younger then. Its still hard not to carry him but its manageable.

I think I will just do my boobs first, and Im sure Ill forget this pain Im in now, and still want my stomach fixed, but by then he should be more independent. You made it look so easy!!

wow I never had any pain with getting my tubes tied. I went back to work the next after getting them tied

It's mostly the soreness. Yesterday I had pain from the actual surgery. today its not pain, its soreness on my neck, arms, and back and its very uncomfortable. I've never had my body be sore after a surgery. I also had a hard time peeing afterwards, and was very nauseous its never happened before.

Did you have horrible swelling once you were cleared to not wear your compression garment?

I was told I didn't need to wear it to work for Halloween, and that night I went home feeling bloated. Well I have swelled 3 inches in the waist and I am 8 lbs up! I mean, that happened in a 9 hour shift at work and that was last Saturday and I am not going down. I callled my surgeon and he said to keep the spanx on as long as possible now, but I am super discouraged.

Just wondering if this happened to you at all and if it got better?

yep my swelling came and went for months. Most days I was flat in the morning and then bloated by the evening time.

I am so thankful for this thread. I am planning to get a tummy tuck as my college graduation gift to myself. I have had 3 c-sections and its left me a lovely flap of skin. Cant wait to get rid of it. ..

no clue, I can heel all the way up to a year or even 2 years so we shall see. Mine doesn't look to bad compared to some I have seen

I'm sure you can still breastfeed but you would have to watch what pain meds and stuff you take. I really don't know though because I wasn't breastfeeding when I had my surgery. I paid a little over 6k for just my tummy tuck. You will need help for a few weeks after surgery with the kids and all.
