16 weeks and concerned

posted 3rd Mar '12
I'm a bit concerned I haven't felt any movement yet. My friend is due 2 days after me and she feel bubbles and "swooshing" but I haven't yet. I'm starting to get worried that there's something wrong, I know everyone is different just wanted to know when other mums felt their first baby move around and how could I possibly feel it better x

That's still way early to be concerned. I didn't feel anything until 22 weeks.

You're still early I didn't feel anything until 18 weeks and that was just little flutters and movements.. Not any real kicks or jabs.

16 weeks is not far enough along to be worried that "something is wrong" because you've yet to feel movement. If you still haven't felt anything by 24 weeks, I'd be a little concerned. But the baby is still very small at 16 weeks.

I felt very light flutters at 18 weeks and definitive kicks/acrobatics at 20 weeks. It's only gotten stronger and more consistent since.

Didnt feel him till I was 20/21 weeks.

Your friend may 'believe' shes feeling the baby...but not really.

For my first, it was 22 weeks before I felt anything, my second was around the same time and my third was 18 weeks.

I didn't feel any movement until at least 18-20 weeks. Usually if you feel much before that it's because it's not your first child or its just gas. Not common to feel anything until 19-22 weeks if it's your first baby =)

this is completely inacurate. I felt my son for the first time at 14/15 weeks. and definate kicks, rolling and moving at 17/18 weeks. you cant say what she feels or not. some people just feel their babies later than others.

wow...that is so untrue. idk why people think that just because THEY didnt feel their baby before 18 weeks means that others are imagining it.

I'm 20 weeks and still not feeling any kicks. I felt them early last pregnancy but I was pregnant with twins. Also every ultra sound I have you can see the baby doing flips. Don't be concerned yet every pregnancy and woman is different.

I heard you dont feel any movements until 18-20 weeks. But, that is depending on the female. Not all women are the same and wont have the same week. I am about to be 15 weeks Monday with my first child and I dont have anything moving yet but when I get my ultrasounds done you can see the baby kicking like crazy but the mothers wont feel it yet because they are still small.

I felt her move at 20weeks. I'm almost 26weeks now and I just now started to feel stronger and more frequent kicks.
