Bad U/S

Yesterday I went for my first u/s at 10 weeks. The doctor comes into the room and says are you sure your as far along as possible I said yes. She said the sac only measured at 7 weeks and was empty....My hormone levels were low too. Needless to say Im devestated.
So I call her about an hour later to schedual a D & C and she says she talked to the tech and the tech said she had a really hard time seeing anything because my uterus was tilted , OKAY SOOOOOOOO...so before we go and take a healthy viable fetus I want you to come and have another u/s..... Lets prolong my agony why dont we......
Has anyone had something like this happen and go on to have a healthy pregnancy??

They did that to my mom when she was pregnant with my brother. When she went in to do the D & C they of course did another ultrasound and found him...

When I had my very first ultrasound they only found a sac and no baby. I thought I was not going to carry and had the clinic prepare for a m/c they ended up taking blood to check levels and they were low they checked agian in2 wks and they finally went up but my pregnancy test even stopped coming back positive so it was weird but I am 8 months pregnant w/ a stubborn baby girl so there is hope GOOD LUCK!

Yes this did happen with this pregnancy. Allthough my doc tried to get me to abort the baby. I refused and changed doctors. Now I am 13 weeks prego!!!!

Mine showed up at 8 weeks.. Hopefully when you go back for your second things will be just fine, and it;ll have turned out to be a bad camera day.

This did happen 3 months ago but I m/c naturally. So far my body hasnt showed any signs....Im so hoping that she is wrong and my dates are off because of irregular cycles. Thank you everyone I have a little hope now.

I would get a 2nd and 3rd look. Sometimes you aren't as far as you think. I would wait it out. I would also request a HCG blood test and have them check your levels every other day. If the numbers go down, then it's probably that the pregnancy isn't going to last. (sorry to be so blunt). If they rise, there is still a chance. I pray everything turns out for the best!

When do you go back?
Is he willing to do a quant while you wait?

I go back on Tues and they send their stuff out for processing....I had levels done and they came back low for 10 weeks.

im hoping that you are just not as far along as you think. i havent had anything like this happen with either of my pregnancies, so i cant relate. but your in my prayers

If your uterus is tilted that definitely could explain the "empty" sac. When I went in for my ultrasound at 6 weeks 4 days (I am considered high risk due to a previous miscarriage and other medical issues) they didn't see anything. Then when I told her I had been told I had a tilted uterus the tech's eyes lit up and she grabbed a big pillow and stuck it under my butt and tried again. And sure enough boom! we saw a tiny little speck with a heartbeat!

With a tilted uterus is it possible that you can't see the sac that well? My friend is going through this. They keep asking her if she is pregnant because they cant see a sac. ( I told her to get checked for ectopic) I had a misscarrige a few days ago so Ihave not been that much of a help to her. I am afraid she will be like me and go back and they will continue not tosee it.. She is not bleeding though so maybe she will be okay and is just very early.
