C-section questions....

posted 17th Apr
For those of you who had C-sections I have a few questions...

How long were you in the hopsital for?
Did you get stitches or staples?
What is more comfortable a night gown, or night pants and a t-shirt?
Did you bring your own underwear or use the hospitals mesh panties?
Did you bring your own pads, people have told me to bring my own because of the way the hospitals feel?
How long were you in recovery?
When did you get to see your baby/babies?

Thank you everyone!!!!

I am having a c-section in about six weeks for my twins. I am so nervous.... I am scared about a c-section, but even more scared about a vaginal birth with twins, so I opted for a c-section. My doctor told me if I had vaginal that there might be a possiblity that I would have an episotomy and a csection, and well that would just suck to have to recover from both!

I was in the hospital for 6 days!! I got the stapes and they took them out the day before i left it just burned a bit no pain. I preffered a night gown. I wore the mesh panties and brought a ton home i loved them there were comfy and i was in so much pain i didnt wanna wear regular undies lol. The pads were great too i didnt have any problems with how they felt. I was in recovery i think less than 30 mins i saw my baby as soon as he was born and also when i was in the recovery room i was super drugged though lol its a blur sometimes!!

did they give you stool softners when you had your c-section to make it easy to go with out hurting your belly after your surgry??? because they told my friend after she had hers to take some because she said it hurt like hell to push i was just wondering if each hospital did that or if it was just ours

I was discharged after the 2nd day but I still stayed b/c my son was kept 5days and since I was BFing they gave me a room to stay in with him.
I had stitches which disolve and you could really see them. I felt more comfortable in a t-shirt and yoga type pants.
I used the mesh panties for the first day or so but they get very aggravating so I used my own the rest of my stay.
I used the hospital pads. They are bigger and somwhat uncomfortable, but with all the bleeding you do and since you're paying for them anyway, I figured might as well use them and save mine for home.
I had to be put to sleep during my c-section so I was in recovery a little longer than normal, but I was awake probably 10-15 minutes after the surgery. And my son was in the recovery room with me so I was able to see him as soon as I woke up

I had an emergency c-section,so I was not as prepared as I would have liked to have been. My mom had 2 c-sections so she was a huge help. She ran out and got me undies and pads(the big overnight ones with wings).I had brought my own pjs-but I was bleeding so heavy I didnt want to ruin them so I used the hospital gowns. I did not come out of my spinal block very well and was running a "mystery" fever and my daughter was in the NICU,so I didnt get to see her until the following night. But I ended up goinghome 3 days after my c-section. You just have to be very careful not to over do it,and remember to take your pain meds BEFORE you feel like you need them. Also,I had staples and my scar is pretty small, but I wish I would have asked for skin sutures because they heal much nicer. I hope I answered everything. Good luck

Because my c-section was an emergency one. I had preeclampsia and a temperature of 104. And in recovery, they just check your vitals and make sure everything is okay.
